Hi all, new member from West Aus, have looked through the forums and found some great information, thought it was time I signed up as a member. Bought a 2010 1250S secondhand as a chrissy present to myself, first bike Ive owned, and by far the biggest Ive ridden but absolutely LOVE it. Ridden smaller 'off road' bikes for work mostly, but have always enjoyed riding on the road far more than in the paddock chasing sheep.

No a Bandit with knobbies i'd like to see.
Go on I dare ya
lol, might be mad enough to ride a suzi 650 at 100km across a paddock knee deep in weeds, but definitely not putting knobbies in my baby, thatd just be cruel and unusual punishment!

Ill have to take your word for it mate, did a lot of research on various tourers (including this forum) walked into Dale Brittons in Perth, got offered a deal I couldnt say no to, best decision Ive made in years though.

Hell no on the Law Enforcement, definitely a farmer!

Would love to indulge your request, sadly I have no idea how to upload an image, and I only have one which is crappy quality on my phone. Needless to say, snow is not an issue 400kms north of Perth...

Yes, it needs a wash. And, yes, its bog standard, except the rack, and tank protector, but thatll change once Ive done my riding assessment. First thing my dad said to me when I told him I bought it, "loud pipes save lives". A couple weeks later he came over bearing gifts, a JAC oval carbon fibre slip on, Power Commander V, and a trickle charger.

Welcome to the forum. Up Geraldton way I take it? Not too many twisty roads to wear out the edges of your tyres unfortunately though

Almost Reddog, Mingenew, an hour inland of Gero, and on the money in regards to the roads. Which is fine by me, not enough experience on bigger bikes to go taking on the real twisties. The nullabour run and up through those beautiful winding roads out of Adelaide, then over to NSW to Deni through to Cooma through the Tumut dams, up to Armidale, through to Grafton is on the bucket list.

Welcome to the forums rkessels. Sounds like your Dad is in the know. Noise does work.
Bet you do some good hunting in that area also?
And why would you not add the best part of the country onto that bucket list???? S.E. Qld has it all plus some and just north of Grafton.

Not sure on the hunting, dont go shooting for fun, vermin control which just feels like hard work sometimes. Ive only been as far as Grafton, dont know the roads further north to have added SE QLD to the list, but definitely open to suggestions!

You ALWAYS do better when you buy your own christmas presents.
I am wondering what will be under the tree next year.
