Push starter ,crash ,bang .

And starter locks up .Push bike down hill release clutch ,motor is locked solid with big black line from rear tyre .Try again bike starts but has terrible

noise ,sounds terminal .

Pull alt. cover off ,center cog that joins starter to starter sprag clutch has 3 teeth missing .I find about 1.5 .

New cog $65 and all is as normal , never heard of this before ,disappointing to say the least .

Thats a bit of a worry , but as you say it's not been a common fault so maybe you've just been unlucky

Battery may have been a bit flat so sprag clutch could have kicked back breaking the teeth .Its normally fully charged but moving house has caused it to sit longer than normal .Battery tender for this bike as well me thinks .

With bike running and teeth missing it sounded like bent valves .NOT NICE

by the sound it was making i bet your glad it was only a $65 fix , wheel locked up with a death rattle

It was a nightmare , the last owners forgot to clean up and left dead rats behind .I had to take 6 loads to the tip (not all rats ).

The sale of our house fell through ,but sold again one hour later for more $'s .

I'll post some pics as we have a camper trailer for anyone who wants an overnighter .(no rats )

3 acreas sounds nice ' in 3 weeks .

One duck eaten by a crow ,one eaten by a goanna , but Steve (M'Qeen ) the duck ,named because he jumps things , survives .

Its a lot of work but its coming together slowly .

Yet to have a visitor so some would be nice .

Yep doing a Dayboro to Montville (lunching at Montville Pub) via Kenilworth back to Dayboro (via lots of other places as well ) ride on the 20th of January. Its organised on another forum, but I may post it here as well if anyone is interested.
