Re: Fuel Consumption
probably close to the mark for a 1250 riding it conservatively on a commute ( up the pace & it will drop )

Re: Fuel Consumption
Riding conservatively on a trip I'm consistently up around 19.5 - 20.0 kms/litre but a less when I commute (it's only a 10km trip to work and I like to warm it up properly before heading off). The trouble is riding conservatively ......

I ran my bike dry a couple of months ago from a full tank and it clicked over 322km, that was a weeks commute from Annerley through the Valley, Sandgate Road, then on to the Bruce to North lakes. The bike had about 1600km on it as well so it might not have loosened up yet... It has now though
The bike is a 2012

There definitely very good numbers guys, mine is lucky to see 240km per full tank in city commuting everyday, but I have the airbox mod & KN air filter, exhaust and PCV installed on it. I travel 45km round trip per day

Re: Fuel Consumption
I have a 1200 bandit and the fuel range is extremely variable. I can get as little as 180 before reserve or as much as 320, really depends on how and where I ride it.
Round town in Winter using standard ULP I'm lucky if I get 190 before reserve. On a long run on highways/freeways, I can get 280-320 (depends on how many big hills there are - I get better economy between Wagga and Glenrowan than I do between Glenrowan and Kal Kalo) using PULP. In the hills 'playing' I can get 260km on 17lt.
I should point out that other than a Scorpion pipe my bandit is totally standard. Incidentally, putting the pipe made no noticeable difference to power or economy.

Re: Fuel Consumption
On my first good ride last weekend after the first 200ks I put 10 lts in. = 20ks per Lt. We were just cruising along. Then when we got out into the countryside the consumption drastically changed. Did not take not of any Ks per Lt, but it was a lot less. I am more than happy with the performance and know that if I tame it back then I can get around 400ks to a tank.

Re: Fuel Consumption
2004 Bandit 1200
worst consumption was around town is 180kms from initial tank, 260kms including reserve, but I was giving it heaps, it was a new bike and I was exploring its capabilities.
best consumption was open roads with some twisties, 290kms from initial tank, 420 including reserve.
average is about 250/350kms initial/reserve tank.
these are all projected figures based on tank size, I keep detailed records at every fill up and never usually fill unless it involves around 10 litres or more.

Re: Fuel Consumption
I've worked out that 335km for 16.5 is 4.9L per 100km although math wasnt my high point in school so i could be way off , with the amount of power on tap there whenever I need it and these fuel consumption figures when I'm just commuting I have to say I am loving my new ride even more

Re: Fuel Consumption
I'm getting around 390ks on a steady run, less round town though. Compare that with a little tin top.
Last week I was stranded in Auckland due to a tornado canceling flights, so hired a rental car and drove back to Wellington (643ks). Little Toyota still had 12ks left on the fuel gauge predictor thingy. Must say I was impressed as I was driving assertively too but must admit most of it was down hill lol

you must have had a tail wind going into Wellington, as if it were a head wind you wouldn't have got past the Bombays!

2004 1200, fairly well modified, gets 330km on the highway or 250km if I hook in.
I've recordered 5.5l to 7.0l per 100km. Very variable.

Re: Fuel Consumption
For the first time ever I wanted to see what i got in terms of fuel consumption. so today i made a note for the numbers. I clocked up 322 Kms and used a whole 15.7 litres. This then comes out at just under 4.9 L/100 Kms. This was with full Givi set on with top box fully, I also have slip on exhaust and dales stage 1 set up so I am very happy. I am not the slight wristed of riders at the best of times and the ride back from Woy Woy was down the old pacific highway . I had also taken the bike out with a couple of guys on our friday night Jaunt from Parramatta.

Re: Fuel Consumption
2008 GSF 1250. I consistently get 19/21 klm per liter. 15 ltr per 300 kays. It doesn't seem to matter wether we're one up or two up. Fast or steady. Mechanically the bike is pretty much standard except for a Staintune pipe. Round trip to work is 600 klm. The Suzuki will use 30 ltr of fuel on this trip. The 2008 VW Polo TDI diesel, 1.9, uses 28/30 ltr. The 1994 Toyota Hilux Surf 3ltr diesel uses 70 ltr. Going by modern car engine technology you wonder how much more economical motorcycles should be seeing we're only moving a fraction of their weight?

Imagine a turbo diesel Bandit? 2l/100kms maybe HAHAHAHA the low end torque is fantastic now but imagine the potential you could probably tow a camper and still get 300kms per tank.

Re: Fuel Consumption
Good fuel consumption for the bike... Our five and a half ton, 3 litre Iveco motorhome (which is shaped like an aerodynamic house brick) uses 12 litres per 100km and I reckon that's good.

Umm, can your 1.9L Polo do 11sec passes on the 1/4 mile?
You're moving a fraction of the weight with a bike, but the state of tune is a bit different.
A little commuter bike like the new Yamaha 125 learner thing can get down to about 2l/100km.
