Anyone had experience with lowering links for rear shock?
Just wondering if anyone has lowered their Bandit 1250 by using different dogbone links. I purchased the bike Wednesday and am considering dropping the height of the bike down a little for my short legs I am also thinking of raising the fork legs through the triple clamps to bring the rake back closer to "normal" Any ideas would be great!

Kind of ,i lifted mine .
Shouldnt be a problem , and not hard to do or expensive .I welded up one end of the dogbones and redrilled .
How much or you thinking of dropping it ? Center stand may (will) be harder to use .

Hi Gus, I just purchased a pair of dogbones for $60 delivered of ebay. Thre positions standard 1.5" and 2.5" will see what its like at 1.5" first as I don't want to change the stearing/handling too much toward the slow direction.

Be careful dropping the forks. I believe Dhula had issues cracking the back of the front mudguard, so it's obviously a close fit from standard.
I went the other way and lifted mine 35mm on the rear. Did wonders at a trackday, but it was horrible on the road with the stock front end. Went back to stock within a week.

I had to put shorter dogbones in my 1200 when I changed the rear shock. Think it was an inch, but the new dogbones were only a few mm different from the stockers. My 1250 now is slightly higher in the rear because of a Wilber shock. I am leaving it as is because it rides so nicely. Best of luck.

Hmmm.. Sounds like a waste of time and money then. Shall look at sculpting the seat a little, I did this on the last RF900 and it worked well - the air hawk fitted better too, didn't feel like I was sitting over the bike but in it. Thanks for your advice on this guys.

Not at all ,the 1.5 should work well.I dare say 1.5 " will feel like 3" when you sit on the bike .
