Bikers get a weave pass - OK to ride between lanes

MOTORCYCLISTS will be allowed to weave around cars banked up at traffic lights in parts of the city under a bold new plan.

Its not all its cracked up to be VMC have issued a warning to riders to be very carefull especially where they stop at the intersection. They feel it will be heavily policed.

Most riders do it anyway ...............the only problem I can see is when mopeds / small scooters decide to do it , they will be a pain in the butt holding everyone up with their distinct lack of acceleration / 50kmph top speed & inability to out accelerate the cars at the lights.

I do not know if it is legal, but we do it all the time here in Hong Kong. It works well as the lanes are much wider than those I have driven on in Sydney. In fact, I was amazed how narrow some of the lanes were considering they were carrying container trucks. I coudn't imagine being stalled in summer traffic with 98% humidity.
