G'day all from Canberra
Afternoon all,
Just picked up a 2006 1200 'S' this afternoon after selling my M109r (needed the change).
My name is Jason, aka Lurch. As well as the Bandit in teh garage I also have a restored 1983 GPz750 and just finished the resto on a 1980 Supercub.
When I'm not working or riding I run the CanberraRIDERS motorcycle club.
Looks like I just missed out on a good Canberra ride too - oh well, next time.
I'd post a pic of the new bike, but it says I'm not allowed

Welcome Lurch.
I love the 109 and could easily be tempted.
What are your thoughts?

Of the 109? Awesome, awesome bike.
Mine had custom intakes and exhaust, a few other mods and a PowerCommander-V. Last time it was on the dyno it pulled 125hp at the rear wheel, but more importantly 154nM of torque!!
Ground clearnence is obviously an issue. On 109s the front foot pegs basically become consumables. So theyre not quick going into a corner. But as soon as you see that exit... rip the throttle and simply have your arms removed from theyre sockets.
Having nearly 400kg of rider + gear + bike with one wheel in the air is an interesting experience.

Tyres? HAHA
About 5,000 from the rear, about 9/10,000 from a front.

Still riding, but a loss of a loved one has shaken up my world and priorities. I"ve never been a prodigious poster on forums and I was posting less and less at CR. Here I chip in then and now and it's not blocked at work

Not brilliant to hear mate. But CR is still there and going along great. You should drop back in at some stage.
