Baz from Sydney
I have a k9 2009 blue SA baby which I have so far ridden down from Maroochydore. Have also gone for a trip to Moruya.
I'm in for rides, seems I've missed your first NSW ride.
Can't afford Eastern Creek, I just bought a bike ya know! which I am now buying stuff to fit to it.
My previous rides have been honda 125 single, yamaha 500 single, kawasaki GPZ900R and more recently a hyosung GV650, I found cruisers not much to my liking.
I'm just about to receive my SW-Motech mirror wideners and a rack to mount a top box on. I would like to talk to other bandit riders regarding handle bar risers and a good touring type screen that I could use.

Re: Baz from Sydney
Welcome mate and congrats on the purchase.
I did 550km today in a howling wind and I'm still shaking off the headache but I'm happy with my bars, mirrors and screen (15,000km) so unless there is something you really want to change dont be in to much of a rush.
I do recommend a radiator guard and others here will recommend one that doesnt catch on the front guard. Mine was from Rater R on eBay and works fine

Welcome Baz!
AMC in QLD have risers, but I got 25mm risers from "Just Bandits" in UK for about $75? work just great (Just did 1600km round trip) AMC have a lot of items to suit the bandit, give them a call after visiting their website?

Re: Baz from Sydney
I had a few issues with the K9 that I won't go into on this forum but will discuss if I'll see you in Narooma .. anyway, I always liked the look of the new GSX1250FA, luv the black engine and a gear indicator is always a good thing to have .. so I bought a new GSX1250FAL0. Checked into Western Motorcycles in Penrith yesterday(mon 20 SEP 10) and today (Tue 21 SEP 10) rode it home .. so man that was quick, Western M/C were wonderful and made the whole process seamless.
I agree with Reardo .. the silver ones are quicker .. ha ha
here are some pics, day one, 0.0 Kilometres

Nice. But "I agree with Reardo .. the silver ones are quicker .. ha ha". Not once you've fitted a speedo healer they're not as the Healtech can be calibrated from -99.9% to +9999.9%. So you can display over 900kmph if you want to! It takes less than 2 minutes to input a new calibration figure so anything's possible - make syou wonder about some Utube videos!
I've left mine calibrated at -4.5% - according to the GPS I'm now doing 98.5 kmph when it's showing 100, instead of 94 which is what you get from the Suzuki factory. I could make it exact by dialling in 6% but heck, I like the 1.5 kmph confort buffer!

A new bike
You already had a new bike
Anyway congratulations, but now you'll have to wear out another set of ordinary rubber before you can fit the good stuff
Look forward to checking it out at Narooma.

Re: Baz from Sydney
maybe i could be a sissy for just a little while
Although blue and silver and grey and black and red bandits are all very fast, Nobody has yet come to take me on at WSID. So i am going to make a stand right here:...PURPLE bandits are the fastest

Re: Baz from Sydney
thank you one & all. I got a very good trade-in price, I would have been mad not to go ahead with the deal.
Haven't ridden it today and now I find the council is laying a cover of hot mix right at the end of my driveway .. and I hate that black gunk ruining my paint job .. doh!
This means of course, I now have a powerbronze airflow screen I no longer need .. who wants it ?
The gel seat will go on it .. even though it has a Bandit logo, might get that changed eventually .. I've pulled up at places and people have seen the logo and I've witnessed them clutch their handbags and check the location of their wallets (I kid you not)

Re: Baz from Sydney
HaHa I was thinking of bumping my intro too, since I joined on day 2 there was hardly anyone around to do the welcoming.
Re: Baz from Sydney
I thought I should report on the new bike.
I can feel the effectiveness of the fairing at about 85 k/hr onwards, the bike feels planted, and smooth baby smooth, get up to 100 still smooth, want to increase the speed just get your head down and you'll be rewarded.
