Rear Hugger Arrived
After nearly 2 weeks my new Red Fox rear Hugger arrived. BROKEN ! Was wrapped in lots of bobble wrap but somewhere along the line someone must have thrown it or dropped something on it. Have contacted the pommy supplier, along with the pic, and waiting for a reply.

Have a look at the box and if it shows signs of crushing/damage take a photo of that as well, it might come in handy to prove it was damaged in transit.

I think that was half the problem Barry. No box ! Plenty of bubble wrap and tape and at first glance you would have thought that it would survive the journey. Oh well.

As someone who worked for Australia post and investigated damaged mail as part of my job. I would have to say that the packaging from the sender is nowhere near good enough to protect this item.
You need to take the item and all wrapping to a Post Office. Fill in a complaint form. Get the staff there to fill in the damage report on the back of this form. That way there is a record with Post of this in case Royal Mail/Parcel Force contact Australia Post to see if this has been done. That way you have a record that the wrapping was not good enough to go back to the sender with and either demand he refund you or he sends anther one this time send in a box.

No box for a bit like that
My new can & link pipe came in a box with bubble wrap & poly/foam protecting it. I'd be expecting even more protection for a fragile part like that!

Looks like the boxes have it. It was probably cheaper for them.

When I got my new screen it arrived damaged ( in a box ) & the supplier ( powerbronze ) replaced it ok so I doubt you will have any problems/ they didn`t take due care to make sure it arrived undamaged by packing it correctly.

That's a bummer. It's soo dissappointing when you are waiting for a goodie and it arrives broken.

That is Bullshit mate .
Not to rub salt in mate. But Mine came in a box, wrapped in that thin foam and plastic bag. With folded up cardboard box's to fill & protected it from being crushed. And it worked, the box looked like it had been thou hell. But not a mark on it. From intobikes.com.uk
My handlebars were packed in the same way. From MCAS.

Re: Rear Hugger Arrived
Just got an email from SIDE Simpson Detour. They have posted out a replacement hugger. They said that brakeages are very rare. I asked if it would be better sent in a box and their reply was as I thought, shipping charges would be up around 50 Pounds Hopefully this one gets here OK. The broken one is actually still useable. I filed the broken edge straight and 3/4 of the mounting hole was still there so it attached to the bike fine. I was pretty certain that they would not ask for it to be sent back.
