Malaysian GP 2012

My lovely wife has just bought tickets for the Gp this year as it is Casey's last year riding. We will be taking our 2 year old (will be 3 in August).

First off has anyone been? Any recommendations on taxi drivers and things to see and do in Malaysia outside of the gp?

I guess you will be staying in KL ? There is always a trip up the Petronas Towers. Shopping is great. Food is excellent. People are very friendly. Have a great time.

Usually you can grab a taxi and have him as your personal chauffer for the time your there at a pretty reasonable rate, if he's any good he will take you to all the better markets and sight-seeing hangouts, including country trips.

My dad was stationed out of Penang during the Malaysian Conflict, we had a Married Quarter on the island from '59 to '61, don't remember too much other than the street markets, the snake temple and a 45 degree railway.

I got over to KL, Lumut, Epo and Butterworth during my last years in Defence, still an interesting place.

Going to be staying at the renessaince for 9 nights. Can't wait. Pamela is trying to lock down a good taxi driver so everything is good to go prior to taking off.
