All Weather Riders.
Getting out of my warm bed this morning was untypically harder this morning at a chilli 9 degrees. Was that Cold, I could have cut glass with my NIPPLES ! I know, I know, all you " Mexicans " are scoffing at me , and with just cause. So I would like to take my hat off to all you hardy souls that are the 'all year round riders'. Ross comes to mind. I did it when I was young and bullet proof. Tucking Newspapers down my jacket to help stop the frosty wind getting through. Trying to wipe frost offa my visor with a frozen gloved hand on the way to work. I also remember slowing down at an intersection and then going down like a sack of spuds when I hit a patch of " Black Ice ". I even had trouble just getting back on my feet, let alone picking up the bike. I would never tell my Mum any of that though. Cause she would have made me sell the bike and get a "safer" car. So take care you hardy ones. And give the missus and kids a big warm hug every time you return home safely.

2c this morning was a tad chilly. It's nearly time to break out the thermals under my work pants.

Re: All Weather Riders.
I certainly hate riding in winter so i do take my hat off to all that do
It's not the cold or so much the wet....but the amount of morons on the road when it rains
They don't check mirrors or indicate at the best of times and when the cars/windows get fogged up they don't even bother
Emergency braking on the freeway in the wet is not something i enjoy so the bike doesn't get ridden much in winter

Re: All Weather Riders.
Call me old call me queer but I love riding in adverse weather. We have not had any snow this year (yet) but today it was chucking it down with rain. I posted a picture of last years Bandit pre ride checks, thank god I build a garage for this years model lol. Aqua planning makes for a great skills check but the one thing that still scars the shit out of me is bloody diesel on the road wet or dry. The trick with riding in the snow on a road bike is to cut your own path rather than a vehicle track that is slushy and re icing.
The temperature does not phase me that much I must have been a polar bear in a former life. The rain/ hail that hits the helmet can be a tad annoying and noisy.

No need for chains Hammy
Must admit that the foam on the seat forms a funny cone shape when you suck your cheeks together during hairy moments. Forgot to load the drive way. 1st gear no brakes stay out of the flatmates tyre tracks.. Thats looking from the bottom up to about half way once you are on the road its all good, just remember to cut your own path

I don't mind riding in the cold, I don't mind riding in the wet. But riding in the snow, you can shove that up your arse. You're a braver man than I.
