Re: Stone chips
I once came up behind a truck in a work ute and wondered what the hell was stuck between the duells on the right hand side. I soon found out when it dislodged and luckily I moved my head to the left in a hurry. The rock, (about the size of a grapefruit) came straight through the windscreen and broke off the headrest behind me. It was quite an experience.

Re: Stone chips
I once had 2 rocks fling out of the dual tyres on a logging truck just as I pulled out to pass him, they hit the left side of the windscreen & left thousands of shards of glass stuck in the back of the vinyl seat. It was overcast & wet road at the time, so no sunnies on, glad I'd pulled out to pass him, otherwise might've hit my side of the screen!
