April ride day

Let hope for better weather for this one.

MEET: Mcgraths hill maccas 0800 for a 0830 leave.
DATE: 11/04/10
ROUTE: Bells line of rd to Darling causeway. Down mt Victoria. Across to Oberon for a coffee stop. Then backroads to Goulbourn.

Did this as part of my snowy ride last week. Amazing roads past Oberon. Long fast sweepers and all that. Loved it, so id thought id share it with you all.
Its a fair distance, hence the slightly earlier start. But last week i did get there well before lunch time.

Hope to see some of you guys on this ride.

What day in April?
Could probably get some ACT riders to head over to Taralga/Goulburn and put some faces to names.
Agree that ride on the Goulburn - Oberon road is a beauty. Also less and less dirt on the Bathurst - Crookwell road so that will soon be an option for riders that don't do any dirt roads. These alternatives beat the hell out of the major highways that's for sure.

at this stage, I'll say yes .. I think its a long ride and I'd prefer to start off on saturday & stay overnight somewhere and get well lubricated and chat to new faces.
On another note, I was at Robinson pis shop today and two bandits rolled up .. gave them forum cards .. nice bikes, a naked with a Delkevic (I think) exhaust, sounded great, and a 1200 that looked mint.

Would like to do this run but not quite up to that distance yet. Still in recovery mode from being highsided off my FJR when i hit a patch of diesel on the road up Tamworth way 7 weeks ago. The reason why i now have the Bandit.
Next time maybe.

how long do you envisage this ride ? all dayer into evening? daylight savings ends soon.

I have been thinking about the no day light saving thing.
My other group i go riding with is just doing a loop to Jenolan caves and Oberon. So im just going to go on that one. We will leave this ride for the beggining of next daylight saving.

I'm still unsure. Still not happy with my rear wheel after ACTION m/c City stuffed it up using unsupervised 1st year apprentices working on my precious bike ... having Balmain m/c look at it today.

I can't put into words how bad I feel about bloody ACTION m/c .... shit service, .. never again shall they even see my bike, or get my $ on accessories.

My bike is much more normal again after I drained the excess oil out .. there was way too much oil in there. The I had Balmain m/c look at it and rebalance the wheel .. I'm a happy rider again.

The ride .. I'm in .. if its not raining bad, and I might only go as far as the caves as well, see you at maccas 0830

Good to see you guys may be coming. Providing the weather is good, ill be there...with my camera, so we can get some bandit photos for the site, and for my youtube promo video.

have you got a movie camera? i can get hold of a hi definition sony [you cant edit the hd very easily tho] but it can be easily converted to a regular video file. i might bring it out of interest

I'm suffering a pulled muscle in my lower back ... it might be clear tomorrow morning, it also might just disappear when I get back on the bike, at least thats what I'm hoping.
If I'm not at maccas by 0830 then I won't be coming guys.

How did you guy's go today

I had a pretty good run, what started as a short run down to PITS with pillions ended up about 330km and the other guys ended up not bringing pillions, I don't think my wife is too impressed, and we saw a rider down, near Wyee and another near Brooklyn and a damaged bike abandoned near Central Mangrove.

We had a really good ride. great weather. a little bit to much wind though in some spots.
we had a group of around 60 riders. 4 of which where banditos. Myself, Potato, Baz and V-Max turned up.

Lunch at Oberon. Then down to jenolan caves and home via Bells. Good run home, but a fair few cars out and about.
And a heart stopping moment with a blue Hwy patrol commodore. But all is good.

Hope to see some more out on the next ride?

Yeah I had fun, and yes way too much wind .. the weather was windy too.
I hope we can get some of those photos that were taken at Jenolan Caves.

Well I did take some shots, here are the best two ... it always give me a great feeling to have so many bikes all together.
