Island Life. It's Tough.

Cheers SB. Don't worry. They have their fare share of mishaps and delays. One barge I was on last week had gotten a crab pot tangled up around one of the props. It had to run on just one engine. That was fun getting it in and out of the ramps.

No, I am lucky to work here on our small island. Did the early morning commutes ( 4:30am water taxi ) and late home for several years. Am winding down now. "Island time".

Where moving to an slightly larger island a little further south in about 10 weeks, maybe not as warm but we kinda like it.

Nice one Hammy. I miss Moreton bay. My bro lived on Coochie for almost 20 years. I spent a lot of time there (usually drinking). We used to swap houses regularly as I had 6 acres near Mt Tamborine and his kids would get sick of island life - they didn't know how good they had it.

Yes idyillic now but down the track youll get rebellious want to split from the Big Shire refuse to pay taxs shelter pirates etc and we will have to bomb the fuck out of you so no, not for me gilligan I m camped out at the airbase . No, theres not too much that I miss. It's only an 18 minute ferry ride or a 40 minute barge trip to the BIG island. Most of the roads are sealed . Only a few still are gravel. The Redland council does one or two a year. Just to show that they do spend some of the rates money over here. It makes an outing like sundays ride all the more enjoyable because it's kind of a treat. This morning I'm back to birds chirping, no traffic noise, just me and the dog, and the chooks. Ahhhhhhhhh.
