Re: WSID Photos
got in 8 runs.
First was a 12.25 @ 178
Then most where about the 12.00 mark
Then my last two where the quickest 11.98, then my fastest on the final run was 11.84 @ 185kmh
I am going to go back in a few weeks, wont be happy until i run an 11.50
We need to hold a bandit Challenge. Post everybodies best times and have a time to beat.

11.84 is a fantastic time mate.............did you do any 'set up' mods to the bike? What sort of changes you got in mind for the 11.50 time?

Re: WSID Photos
Im going to lower my tyre pressures. I ran 38 F and 42R. A few guys lower theirs to about 32F and 30R and they said it made a difference. So im going to give that a go. Ima try weight reduction to. I had a full tank and didnt use that much fuel, so ill run about 8L or so. take my givi rack off the back. And im sure this combined with practice will get me that 11.5
But then im sure ill want even quicker than that. I think the fastest posted time ive seen for a 1250 is 11.30

Re: WSID Photos
My thoughts would be to leave the front tyre pressure as high as possible to reduce friction. Try reducing rear pressure and make the rear suspension 'soft' to avoid bounce. I was only talking to a mate recently about trying mine down the 1/4 mile. I wonder what an old school 600 would?

Yeah i probably wont touch the front. See how we go. Not sure about the 600.
Only one way to find out

Re: WSID Photos
A couple of things
Keep the rear pressure high unless you have wheel spin (why introduce more rolling resistance?)
Close your visor! (think it was 2nd pic)
Remove as much weight as you can.
Your 60 foot times will be where you make the biggest gains.
Be Prepared to drag the clutch if you're serious (hold on front brake)
Crank up the rear preload. (you want power going to the ground not taken up with suspension sag on launch)

Re: WSID Photos
I concur with 2wheelsagain! Tyre pressures as high as possible, without wheelspin. drop down if you need to stop wheelspin.
Try for a minimum suspension sag! Ie: as solid as rear suspension setting as possible.
You should check your rpm in top gear as you cross the finish line, if you are down below say 6000rpm you could try a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket on your drive chain. Pretty cheap and may help you get lower times??
Good luck? but most of all ENJOY yourself!!

Re: WSID Photos
There is one thing i will also try.
Just before the finish line i was changing from 3rd to 4th. I think next time i will leave it in 3rd, i dont think i will hit redline. See how we go.

At 185km/h you'll need to be in 4th mate
