chaps.... im getting a dark tinted visor for my Shoei TZ-R but notice that there seems to be a large variation in cost. Is there much difference in ppl's opinion? anyone know a good cheap one to get cos some of them are as dear as poison.

I got my Shoei tinted visor for about $90. First visor/helmet combo Ive owned that doesnt feel like you need to break the side covers off to change visors (of which I do on a daily basis). My Doohan Arai tinted visor was $110 Shocked

Visors for my 'Shark' carbon are around the $90 mark too... they're 3mm thick as opposed to whatever the 'normal' ones are... Rolling Eyes

I use windex or similar and a soft cotton cloth (the old type of baby nappies or cotton toweling rags are great & won`t scratch clear / tinted plastic ) Very Happy
motor accessories shops sell cotton toweling cloths as well

Windex for me too.
Although this is likely to start another "which oil" type debate Laughing

When I bought Jan her new Shark for Xmas I spent a long time hagling with the salesperson. Fisrt to get a good discount on the helmet, then again on the price of a dark tint extra visor, ( half price ). I like to polish my visors with Rain X. They come up crystal clear and if you do get caught in a shower you just tilt your head and the water beads off.

Is that tinted for the outside or a new inside one?
I think the inside screen could be darker but I haven't been able to find replacements yet

My skid lid for the last couple of years is the HJC IS16, very happy, a Nolan open face keeps it company (only has $h1t sunnies with that one...)

I use the same thing. Then top up the cleaning fluid with a metho/water mix. If it's really crappy I'll use Ajax Window cleaner or Mr Sheen (actually I use the home brand version).
