Storage under seat
A step by step guide on how to increase the size of the undertray area (what I did anyways)
Remove the seat
Remove both side panels
Remove the muffler
Remove both pillion peg brackets
Remove the pillion grab handle
release the seat lock cable
To do this lift the yellow locking tab out of it's holder and push it to the side like this
Then lift the ball end out of the locking lever
Release the rear cowl from the undertray
Once released remove the rear cowl from the bike. It is not straight forward so take your time. Only pull it away a small amount (you'll work out how much) so you can disconnect the tail/stop light to start with. Once the cowl is on the table/shelf, go back to the bike and disconnect the indicators and plate light so that the wiring is free
remove these screws
remove these bolts (note they are the longer ones - this will make sense very soon)
remove the battery tray bolts (the battery tray and battery does not need to be removed)
remove these screws. they are located either side of the TOS (do not mess with the TOS)
The front of the undertray may fall down onto the tyre at this stage
remove these bolts (these are the shorter ones - see I told you it would make sense)
now remove the undertray from the bike.
Once on the bench remove the indicators and plate light. Remember witch side indicator goes where by connector colour (black and dark olive drab)
Install notes:
The tubing and wiring goes through this gap in the undertray
After fitting the shorter bolts to the rear of the undertray, if the front mounting points do not butt up hard against the steel mounting points on the frame, something is wrong. There are 2 locating spikes behind the battery tray that are more than likely the culprit, jiggle and they will fit together. Once there put a bolt here
temporarily while you fit the screws next to the TOS
Size up the job
cut the useless bit out
fibreglass over the hole
in these pics I've only done one layer on the bottom. It's up to to but I recommend doing at the very least one layer on each side. someone with better glassing skills than me (not hard) feel free to chip in with hints on how to glass better than me (again, not hard)
Paint it black
I'll point out I'm not 100% happy with this and will probably pull it all down and start again. It's as it is due to having to move house really soon (unexpectedly) so need the bike back together right now. When I do it again I'll end up sanding and painting for a better finish
To put it back together just reverse the instructions. I've listed assembly hints and hopefully covered everything but any questions, just ask
There are a few steps you can not do if you like (muffler and pillion peg brackets spring to mind. I did them to make more room and because of the Givi top box

Re: Storage under seat
It's not a bandit but a GSX650F
here are a few pics for your enjoyment
I recovered the seat cause my MRS (the owner) wanted the seat to match the red F on the fairing and the red tank pad she got for the bike.
Thinking of adding red rim tape as I recon it might set the bike off really well.
