bandit age group
Ok, so I'm 25.
And not that I'm worried or anything, but....
I have noticed that a large number of members are over 30, over 40 and over 50....
While I think this is great, the knowledge and experience you bring is great. But...
Have I bought an old man's bike?
If yes, then sweet, cause at least it's unique :-)

chips,
i`m 51 but don`t think the bandit is an old mans bike
good for me and the missus to ride in comfort
we don`t go on long trips,maybe 120 to 150 k round
even if i was back in my 20`s i still would have chosen the bandit
on hire purchase of course, didn`t have the cash back then
she`s got enough balls for a cruiser.and that`s my 2c worth
as 2wa would say.

44 y.o. here - And hey its not just Bandit riders that are generally the older crowd. Its road bike riders in general.
When you look around at the crowd at the favourite pit stops on good bike roads. Lots of grey hair ( or no hair ) & not too many in their 20's !
Cheers,

I reckon its because all the young blokes want sports bikes like a GSXR or the like. As you get older and wiser (hopefully) you realise a sports tourer is a much better option than a bike that you can only ride for short intervals and then have to stop for a stretch.
And for the record I'm nearly 48

You're only as old as the woman you feel so in my case I'm 28
Dont worry about our ages. Worry about your experience.
I'm confident some of us "mature" blokes could show the pups a thing or too on the Bandit and survive to tell the tale.

Re: bandit age group
ok, well mines older than me... only 10 months but I like the role of the toy boy...
And I disagree, riding the majority of guys i see are young, but are riding crazy sports bikes...
or they a fat and old and riding harleys.... which have to be slower than trucks...
I don't run into alot of older guys on sports tourers, but i do see alot on boulevards and triumph bonne's etc...
What I love about the bandit is that, unlike my friends who ride gsxr's, and fz6, etc, is that their girlfriends choose not to ride with them due to the lack of comfort and safe feeling....
Whereas, my wife will come on the bandit without hesitation... its nice riding around with her tits in my back and her hands in my lap... she just can't help herself when she is on the bike :-)

TMI
I don't care what sports bikes my mates ride because I know I can keep up and do it for 600km day after day if i have too without needing a massage at the end of the day. If you have the right stuff between the ears the Bandit is very capable in the twisty stuff even giving away 40,or 50hp.
Anyone who has an image issue with their bandit hasn't explored its limits.
Now what's your wife's number?

Re: bandit age group
Thats interesting about the age of bike riders in general .At moto GP the age is "older " well i think so .Where i ride (area )the age is older ,quiet
country areas . The most popular area for bikes around Briso would have to be Mt Glourious .The age group how tend to go there is younger .
Probably why i tend to stay away .Always a bike in the guard rail and a ambulance on its way .CHIPS is young, i'm old , do age groups have differant
ideas of WHERE a good ride is ? My idea of a days ride on a trip is 900 kls . Most young guys seem to be a lot less but quicker .

Do you newer blokes know that The Great General Cameron, owner and Moderator of this forum is 20 years old?
Re: bandit age group
The bandit isn't an old mans bike. I don't know about the new ones, but the older ones can still hold their own against the newer trender bikes on the road.
Best bang for your buck new bike on the market.
A mate of mine just got back from a month or so in the UK. His first words to me when I saw him was "Geez, there's a crap load of Bandits on the road over there. It's almost as if every second bike is a Bandit" For the record he rides a Triumph America.

I`ve always found that bikes are in general a great age leveler between riders & regardless of age we are all part of a biking community . A trip to any of the biking haunts always seems to have young or older riders talking like they have known each other for years even if they just met because of a common interest we share .
