Thanks Gus. Thought there might be a chance for an update from those members who have installed them.

pro-oiler
My boss at work has one on his Honda VRF800. He's not happy with it as he says it's messy. Even though he has it adjusted right down it still manages to spray oil over the left side of the wheel. There is however, an oil that won't do that. It's called SLOFLO 150. It's almost like chain bar oil for the chainsaw, and if the oiler is adjusted properly it will deliver just enough oil to the chain without the mess.

Re: Pro-Oiler - Any long term reports?
I have had a pro-oiler on the Bandit from about 2000km. At 15000km there is no appreciable chain wear since installation. I love it and would happily recommend it to anyone. I fit it at the same time as a mate with a Triumph Sprint who is equally happy. I have no problems with excess oil; it is set as per the manufacturer. The system is the only one that uses actual distance travelled to determine oil volume to dispense. It has never failed to keep the chain & sprockets both clean and properly lubricated, while using only about 200ml of normal engine oil in over two years use.
The controller is mounted on the triple-clamp and easily adjustable on the move for environmental changes (rain etc). The manufacturer is very supportive, plenty of technical support if required. I broke a dispenser (ham fisted cleaning) and they replaced it in a couple of days via airmail.
Fitting took a couple of hours.
Happy to discuss further with anyone who wants to.

Thanks for your report Al Fentanyl, Ive just ordered one! Im hoping it will arrive here about the same time I take delivery of my new 1250s. Not having to use that sticky spray lube will be so good.

No wuckers mate; drop me a line when you're ready to fit it & I'll send you some helpful info. Make sure you give the chain & sprockets a thorough clean with kero just prior to fitting.

Have finally got around to taking some pix of the fitting of the Pro-Oiler and a TPMS Tyre Pressure monitor.
Firstly the speedo pickup to the control module
Then a 5-pin relay mounted
The control mudule & pump mounted in the plastic tray under the battery box
The oil bottle & breather / supply hoses, mounted to the front right of the battery box
More detail of the oil bottle mount
Routing the oil lines
The breather line, ends up under the ducktail
The controllers for the Pro-Oiler & the Tyre Pressure Monitor.
The delivery system
Two very worthwhile investments.

Re: Pro-Oiler - Any long term reports?
I have a pro oiler installed on my 08 1250 and have done just over 12,000k since install. Once I had the setting right no excess oil on wheel and a constantly clean chain. Chain had first adjustment from new install at 10,000k, only very minor one flat on the adjuster. Installed one on wifes fz600 at the same time, also really good but harder to set up due to Yamaha bikes being electrically more noisy. It used to develop EMI at anything above 7,500 rpm, once that was sorted has been great. If and when I upgrade e the stead if the next one is chain drive would not hesitate to fit another one.

Hi Bruce /the oilers seem to get a good wrap from anyone who has one ( I unfortunately don`t )

Re: Pro-Oiler - Any long term reports?
An update on my Pro Oiler.
Installation was pretty easy (thanks Al Fentanyl ), but I did forget to calibrate the controller so it went into some sort of “limp” mode. A re-read of the instructions fixed that small oversite !! Ive travelled 30k with the Pro Oiler with no chain adjustment required so far. Ive got the “oil flow” on the higher side just coz I’d rather have a well oiled chain rather than just adequate. Yes, it flings off the excess and makes a bit off a mess, but its relatively easy to clean when I get around to cleaning the bike. Im using Gulf Western Synthetic Motor oil only coz Autobarn had 4 litres on sale for about $8 . The reservoir bottle and the controller is located in the same place as Al Fentanyls installation (refer previous pics). The pump and control module are zippy tied to the ABS module tray (helps when I don’t have the ABS option!). I think its pretty much paid for its self just by the amount of chain lube spray I would’ve purchased to cover the same kms .

Re: Pro-Oiler - Any long term reports?
Not really a "long term" report - 4K only.
Very impressed. Excellent chain and sprocket lubrication with very little oil actually used. I am using 30 wt engine oil. No adjustments to chain, or discernable change to tension. I've had a couple of very wet rides, and the range of delivery available at the handlebar easily copes with the increased delivery desired for the wet conditions. Much cleaner and accurate than the Scottoiler I have fitted to the other bike.
Wiping off the chain guard every so often with kero is all I need to do. Oil on the sidewall of the tyre? Not noticeable. Takes way less time than it would take to respray the chain with a can, as for cleaning the chain - never any need. There is no build up, as there is with spray on.
Best accessory, apart from the radiator screen, I have.

Re: Pro-Oiler - Any long term reports?
10K on - chain adjust interval resembles oil change interval and are tiny - one flat only (1/6 of a turn) Oh, and I cleaned my chain, with a rag with a bit of kero - wiped the outsides of the side plates. I think I've wiped the wheel (dust held on by little oil in it) twice. It IS the best accessory fitted, apart from the (necessary) radiator guard.
It's changed the way I feel about chain drive. I've always been a fan, but with this, there is NO justification for considering other drive line types. With other bikes I'v owned, not so fitted, I'd be looking at chain/sprocket sets real soon, but I'm not and have no indication of a horizon for that consideration. At least the life of another set in the old measure, but it's only a guess.
