Worst fuel economy and front end feel
You see a lot of posts about good fuel economy.. well today I managed to burn 16.2L in 174kms. Not bad I reckon
Rear tyre ( Bridgestone 021 ) is totally dead after about 6000k's. New 023 to be fitted soonish.
I set the front suspension a bit harder too and it seems to be okay and tracking alright. I am getting slight vagueness in the front end though, has anyone felt this at higher speeds? I'm thinking the front wheel balance might be a bit shit. Running a new Bridgestone 023, the 021 I ran previously felt much more planted at speed.

I coasted into a servo at 170km once but by god it was fun chasing blades and ninjas.
My thoughts on the front feel is Tyre wear. The PR2 needed lower pressure right at the end. If your tyre is shot just chuck it but if not have a play with pressures.
Re: Worst fuel economy and front end feel
Could be the extra preload you dialed in making the front end sit a little higher and causing wind to get up underneath the bike in a bit of a different way.reddog wrote:I am getting slight vagueness in the front end though, has anyone felt this at higher speeds?

Yeah I wasn't chasing blades, but my mate has a new 1198S and we were having a bit of fun. Untill the Ducati's fuel light came on haha
As for the preload it was feeling odd when I rode it last prior to stiffening the front. I have gone from 3 lines to two on the preload.

Do the 2 Bridgies have the same profile?
It could be balance. I'm not sure from your post that it has only happened with the new tyre on.

Re: Worst fuel economy and front end feel
Did you get the GT version of the 023 for the front. If so it may have a stiffer carcus and this may give a vague feeling as it won't bend and flex like the old tyre. I;m not sure this is the case tho AFAIK the difference is the tread pattern on the front.

Only happened since new front tyre. The 023 isn't a GT spec as far as I know.
The new rear will go on in a week or so so I'll see if a matched pair fixes things. If not I'll take it off and put it on the static balancer to see if it is actually balanced correctly.
