Great Alpine Road (GAR)
How Many?
How many photos can you take in 150km?
How many photos can you take in 2hrs?
Yesterday, I took 1600!
That’s right 1600 frigging still images instead of HD video.
Guess who forgot to check the recording settings?
I did a quick run up the Great Alpine Road (GAR) to Swifts Creek Recording from Bruthen and back and I have to tell you the Tail of The Dragon will have to be great to beat this stretch of road.
For Reardo’s info you actually turn left and right, break into and power out of bends on this road
What would you say if you flogged your Bandit for 2hrs and instead of boring your mates with video you only had pic’s to show for it?
Well the computer room in this house was blue for a while!
On a side note the front PR2 is shagged on the right hand side. I really had to muscle it to turn right but once over near the edge (for me lol) it was fine. It dropped into left handers no worries but right handers were almost a 2 stage push.
Here’s a few pics anyway!

Out riding those roads instead of working? I hope you don't expect sympathy?
Only one sensible course of action..... go and do it again

I often wonder why videoing a ride is so popular .. if its such a good ride then why not just ride it again instead of watching it on video

You're too spoilt for great road choices being based in Sale 2WA. Makes me envious. Especially when I also get regular notices that my brother has done another Traralgon-Thompson Dam and back ride on the ST3.

Re: Great Alpine Road (GAR)
Hard to explain I guess. I do it to show you blokes where I ride. If you're not interested don't look
I do it to review my riding. I do it so I can relive the ride without co-ordinating a weekend off to knock another 600km off.
I guess if I rode boring roads I wouldn't do it.
Along with photography video and editing is one of my hobbies.

when its raining just run the video and stay dry........also ..unwanted guests? 2 hours of Bermagui to Bemboka and return does the trick ...................................GrumpyBaz wrote:I often wonder why videoing a ride is so popular .. if its such a good ride then why not just ride it again instead of watching it on video

I'm not knocking it outright, To me having a camera is just another thing to take care off and when I did do it my eyes were constantly being diverted to what was on the camera screen and not the road.
I rarely view any videos online mainly due to my poor wireless broadband and for me uploading any videos is out of the question. So I can just only hope to ride some of these roads and take pictures along the way

All cool Baz.
At least with the purpose built POV cameras they are usually located where you couldn't see what was being shot while riding.

Or whether they are set up properly, it would seem.
