2nd NSW ride!!

when r we arranging it??

Ok...heres what ive got so far...

DATE: TBA
ROUTE: Meet Mcgraths Hill Maccas for a 0900 start. Head along Bells line of road. Across Darling Causeway. Down MT Victoria. Turn left to head down Oberon Rd. Stop at Oberon for a quick break. From there head across to Bathurst for lunch at the Kelso Pub. After lunch (or before, what ever people want) we do some laps of the Track. Good time to get some good photos.
Head back on the same route.

People may want to head back along the HWY home. If the day is a Sunday, traffic is REAL bad heading home in the arvo, so ill be taking bells home as well.

I should know the date tomorrow.
If anybody would like to change any part of the ride, feel free to discuss some ideas.

wouldn't mind a run to oberon [i've never been there]- bathurst might be a bit of a hike - there's another hour and some to get back to home base after penrith!

That suits me if we only want to go to Oberon.
Im doing another bathurst drive around the same time...so it doesnt bother me if we dont go all the way. There is a real good pub at Oberon if thats where we want to make our destination.

I don't know how many Ks you guys consider doable in a day but here's a little suggestion for you, Bylong Valley Way is now all paved and makes for a great ride. We did an Overnighter out to Mudgee via Bathhurst? (long story) then back through Lithgow and Putty Road.

I'm doing a 2day ride out to Coonabarabran in a fortnight
and Philip Island for the Superbike round next year

Well you sort of did that with the first ride, unfortunately I had to work that weekend.

I dont know roads to well up north apart from the putty, so maybe you could help organise a ride for us up north, that also suits a weekend for you?

I did that Bylong Valley Way loop a couple of months ago. I think we did about 600km's in one day. The road is really good and you barely see any other traffic. Heaps of roadkill everywhere to dodge though... We went up Putty Rd to Denman, across to Bylong, down to Rylstone and then back home along the Bell's Line of Rd. Probably the best day's ride I've done.

ok - how do we go about getting some definites for the Oberon Odyssey

Yeah lets get our act together again. I am still trying in dates...which i should hope to get tomorrow...i will do my best. Once we have a date sorted, ill open a new thread and organise things.

Still trying to oragnise a date, however i must have the most unorganised cricket club in the world, so i think we should just pick a day, and stick to it. Will just let them know i cant play...so

Any suggestions on dates??
Once we pick a day, ill close this thread and make a new one with full details, though it will the the Oberon ride.

I'd be keen, depending upon what else has been organised for me on that day!

should we make it in january - that way we can all get organised with no excuses!!

I'd like to add that here in Sydney at this time of year, we seem to have perfect days, extreme heat waves or its raining widespread and I don't particularly enjoy riding on the latter two day types.
I think everyone will find it difficult to commit to a ride when they don't know what day that ride takes place. Perhaps we should all commit to a ride a month, maybe on the last sunday of the month ... like the coming Sunday 27NOV

and maybe a topic on short notice rides .. with the date within the subject line.

of course I meant SUN 29NOV

Ok i will post up something more official later, but heres how it will go:

We will have one official NSW ride once a month, on the last sunday.
I will open a new section for other rides that people want to head out on. Ill call them short notice rides.
Post them up in the new section, with the date as the subject.

So is anybody keen for a ride this sunday...to celebrate christmas?
