Greeetings from Townsville Nth QLD
Gday Gents, new to the forum and posting photos.
I ride a 2002 Bandit 1200S, bought from Mackay Motorcycles about 5 yrs ago. I presume 1200s are permitted on the forum.
Absolutely stock standard as I am not the modifying type, (funds are limited).
I like the twisy roads but I like more just holding it flat and going as fast as I can. So far 255 klm by the standard speedo is the best I can get. Not happy about that but when I get some money will look at an exhaust.
Thanks gents hope to learn heaps from this site.

Dreams are free on any forum
Show me any other 100hp bike, naked or otherwise that pulls anything close to 300!
And to further burst your bubble take off 7% if you have the stock gearing and more if its shorter.
P.S. Welcome to the forum.

G'day mate and welcome.
Check this site out

For a 2002 Bandito, top gear @ 8500 rpm will see you 235 km/h (5th)...not too shabby. You can assume anywhere from 5-10% speedo error. There's plenty more out of the old girl if you play around with her a bit... you know wine her and dine her.

Mate start saving. U need a wee bit more in the pony's department to crack 300.
I'm thinking u need 180hp or more.
Fully worked 1200 would sound beautiful or turbo, supercharger &/or nitrous shot.
Sounds like fun

Welcome aboard Truck
If you want crack 300km/h, the best mod would be to trade her in for a Hayabusa!

Re: Greeetings from Townsville Nth QLD
Greetings and thanks for the welcomes. Seems I am in the right place for learning about the Bandit. I had always been led to believe closer to 300 was achievable - another dream broken.
2wheelsagain - dreambreaker but thanks.
jaba01 - Hayabusa have thought about em but look too big and bulky for me.
Reardo - Dreamin about a turbo.
Geekay007 - interesting report on how things are in Japan and the behaviour of the GSX in traffic in your "introduce yourself" thread
Gus - thumbs up from me for the polished wheels in your "not sure about this" thread
Re-Cycled - I would like to agree but don't want to get flamed so soon after introducing myself to the world.

Don't get too down on yourself Truck. You can easily get 300 km/h out of the 1200 Bandit. You need NOS and perhaps a Turbo running 25 pounds boost first I think. Then +3 front sprocket and -3 rear sprocket, she'll be good for 302 ks at 8500rpm. I say go for it son, don't listen to the nay-sayers out there!
Seriously though you can check out this if you like. I'd say it's good for 300ks
