Re: damaged staintune
My manual for the GSF1250SA says 100Nm (72 lb-ft in old speak) for the rear axle nut.
Can't really see it being much different for the 1200's (unless the axle is of a different diameter)

Nope
Unforunately, I have not yet made it to the Heaven of Aussie Motorcycling.
I celebrated by riding Bells Line of Road with some mates, unfortunately, this meant that I missed the Group Ride.
Was the weekend good for you?

Plastic on pipes?
I had this experience and found it VERY hard to remove the burnt plastic.I persevered with "Autosol" and "OOO" steel wool for a ???? result.. Lesson in life: avoid plastic bags on the road at all costs!! It is fatal on chrome pipes, always left with some scratches.
Good luck

Re: damaged staintune
I melted my textile pants onto my exhaust and couldnt remove it with anything, I then used a small butane powered blow torch and heated the nylon that had baked on the stainless pipe, when it was hot it just wiped off using a rag (old denim jeans), the small marks that were left polished out easily with autosol polish.

staintune
yes i,m a panelbeater/spraypainter by trade and pretty fussy and i would say 99% but it,s better to keep plastic away from pipes in the first place but this method definetly works really well
