Screaming Demon Exhaust
First topic message reminder :
Just fitted a new Screaming Demon can onto my GSX1250fa. Took about 20mins to fit. Comes with a baffle which i removed and it still isn't too loud. Sounds good to me. Cost $365 delivered from WA.to NSW. Will try and post some pics when i get time.

Sounds nice to me. Let us know what it is like on the road now. If you notice any power gains or tiny flate spot anywhere. Have you done any other mods, ie, filter, power commander ?

Re: Screaming Demon Exhaust
It comes with a Centre Stand mod bracket you put on (Rubber included).
The black seems to be Powercoat, so no idea on "fade"... yet
It comes with everytrhing, strap, bolts etc... the only thing extra I used was some copper paste when I joined the exhaust up.
Rode to work and back as usual, and I am ashamed to say that I am 44 but acted like a 18 year old today.... I was just enjoying the sound toooooo much, but all is good, not to loud not to quiet just right : )
I could not notice any Power change to the bike, I have not other mod on the motor just the exhaust I and could not notice a "power" change at all, it seemed the same, loads of power as usual, not flat spots, the bike was normal, they claim 5hp but with 1250 Bandit's it is hard to notice an extra 5hp

Re: Screaming Demon Exhaust
I forgot to ask, is a gasket included or do you use the original, thereby having to buy a new one??????

Yoe can use the original if you take your time. A hacksaw blade comes in handy sliding it between the link pipe and basket and working your away around.

Just played the video again on my desktop machine. Obviously I need a new work laptop
Sounds nice and throaty. Possibly better than the Beowulf!

Well had the pipe on for two days now, tried it with baffle out, lot of burble on back off. Decide to leave it in seeing as the bike has only done 2000k. Really like the look of it, especially over the stock item. The only noticable difference is slight vibration up to 3000 revs, I am tying to hunt down the culprit, maybe because there is no gasket on the joiner pipe. It comes up through the seat as a slight tingle, any comments why this is happening would be grateful. On the hole I am happy with the set up.
I'll leave the baffle in for awhile and see how it goes on a decent trip. If I want noise I'll just fire up the old Le Mans mk4 and ride that for the day, its noisey enough.

Re: Screaming Demon Exhaust
You've made the exhaust system about 9kg lighter which probably amplifies any vibes. Did it come with rubber on the mounts?
Re: Screaming Demon Exhaust
It is the exhaust strap (I think), mine does the same, I moved my strap onto an angle and it seems to stop it. I'll take a photo and post it later. As for the pop and crackle it didn't come with a gasket and I have not bought one for it yet but I remounted mine with some copper exhaust paste and it cut that down a fare bit as well.

Re: Screaming Demon Exhaust
To eliminate the crackle & pop you should do the PAIR mod explained somewhere in here.

Re: Screaming Demon Exhaust
Ok Problem Fixed
On the weekend I tested the bike to see exactly what was making the noise at 3000 rpm+ it was 100% the Exhaust Strap, I moved it to several different positions and I could lower the vibration I could not totally eliminate it, so.....
I took the exhaust strap off and measured it, cut a strip of Lambs wool skin (with Leather backing) ie a baby rug or seat cover with "real" wool. I cut a strip that matched the exhaust strap and put this on with the Leather against the exhaust and wool against the rubber backing. The Screaming Demon exhaust doesn't get very hot, you can ride for an hour and put your hand flat on the exhaust and it is warm but not burning hot. I also had to trim the wool down to fit. I cut the strip thinner than the exhaust strap so I would not get any wool hanging out.
Put it all back together and 0 noise or vibration now. : )
