Front end noise on gsx1250fa?
First topic message reminder :
Anyone else notice front end noise on their gsx1250Fa?
Dont think its the brakes unless its some ABS noise?? (dont know much about ABS mechanics...)
Hard to discribe but noise increases with bike veliocity and occurs with or without clutch or front brakes activated.
Could be wind hitting the front end or hitting the two side fork reflectors which come new with the bike.
Its pretty loud, enough to be heard through my Shoei.
p.s Bike is brand new.

Re: Front end noise on gsx1250fa?
I cant hear a thing from the FA other than the front brake noise, I tested my own hearing a few years ago at RMIT (doing a comms course / AUSTEL) and I only just made 14KHz, ears are somewhat dodgey. (I tell the missues and kids that, pardon Honey / ferals....). Skid lid is HJC IS16, although I do need a pipe... reseach thankfully is easy here!

For interest I used duct tape & covered the front axle holes each side & also all the holes in the front wheel, the ones on each side of the spoke & the one big hole in the centre hub.
Took the bike for a run & it seemed quieter to me, can someone else give it a try & see if there is a reduction in the wind noise or am I just imagining it's quieter?

Taped up some of them .then ran out of tape. Carnt say i noticed any differance. The road noise definitely gets louder on course surfaces and
then changes as the texture changes.

Re: Front end noise on gsx1250fa?
I seem to get an intermittent buzzing noise at around 60 kph (650F), almost sounds like something flapping in the breeze! And is only there with the engine under load, back off the wrist and the noise goes, whilst i'm a noob I do know the difference between an engine running and something else..so no don't take the piss lmfao Tried to locate the source but couldn't. But as I said its intermittent, but seems more prone with the wind coming into the left hand side of the bike. hmmmm very interesting, a conspiracy perhaps

I have a small piece of loose helmet padding that buzzes sometimes and one of my jackets is heaps more noisier than the others.
Just a thought.

Thanks aussiejay.
My update: 1st service didnt find anything, new pipe (looks great and is nice & load without db killer/silencer) but doesnt come close to drowning it out.
Tried turning bike off while in motion but wining noise still prevalent and intrusive.
I'll try the cluster and windshield options noted on 650 site when weather permits and report back.
