OBERON - Sunday 9th January 2011

NSWRiders are holding a ride to Oberon on Sunday 09 Jan and weather permitting I'm going to go along on this ride. So if you want to come along I'm sure you'll have a good day.

Date - Sunday 9th January 2011
Meeting Point - McDonalds McGraths Hill
Meeting time - 8:30
Departure Time - 9:00

After our 9:00 start at McGraths Hill we will follow the Bells Line of Road, turning left at the Darling Causeway. After reaching the Great Western Highway we turn right, then left at Jenolan Caves Road and then to Oberon via Edith Road for lunch. After lunch, we'll continue on to Jenolan Caves and then return probably via Bells Line again or at your own choice.

Brother Dave and I are doing an overnighter next weekend 8th - 9th

Roughly: Newcastle -> Putty Road -> Oberon -> Bathurst -> Neville (or there abouts overnight)

Bathurst -> Sofala -> Rylstone -> Denman -> Broke -> Home

Anyone welcome to ride all/part way or meet up along the track.

I might meet up with you at broke on sunday. Let me know an approx time you expect to be there...
I havnt done the putty in way way to long..

Tricky Question Cam. Looking at the distances we might do lunch at Denman (good place for Sydney Riders to do a lunch ride [hint]) might be better if I text you on the day, that's if vodajoke co-operates.

Well, this ride is under threat of not happening, NSWRiders have advised their members to check the forum in the morning. I just had a look at the weather forecast and it isn't looking great, rain in the morning and thunderstorms late afternoon.
I'll probably make a decision in the morning .. if I don't go to Oberon I might just head up to PITS and do laps of OPH.

We are going regardless, we are staying at Neville where the NSW Riders stay. We will be going down the Putty Road Saturday, then out to Oberon and on to Bathurst.

Denman Hotel for lunch Sunday.

I'll contact Cameron as I have his mobile.

Saturday looks like the better day.

well guys I'm am itching for a ride. after I did the Oxley I then went down to Moruya but once there didn't go anywhere (double demerits, too much booze, too many tourists)
so if it looks good tomorrow morning I'll head out to the Bells and meet you somewhere on it and go with you until I need to turn back.
Look for me at the lookout coffee shop at Kurrajong, .. I'll park so you can't miss it.

Anyone else

Im going out to Taralga from Smithfield Sunday morning. I might meet up and tag along till Oberon with anyone still going from McGraths Hill Maccas.

If the Oberon ride is still on tomorrow I won't be going. I think the weather will be bad.
I met up with Peter & Dave today at Colo Heights and road with them to the base of Mt Victoria, and came back on the Bells. Good ride, good weather.

The NSWRiders ride to Oberon is postponed to 16 JAN

Just got back from Neville, only some light mist near Illford. No rain, a bit hot from Rylstone onward.
Off for a walk on the beach, ride report to follow.

weather was pretty dodgy out here. so i didnt head out on the bike...so thats ANOTHER weekend the bike stays in the shed...i think last time i rode it was weekend after out narooma weekend. i need to get out more.

so us sydney boys need to organise i catch up ride...even if its just coffee at pits one morning.

Have to agree with you Cameron, we need to get on a ride.

NSWRiders are still planning the Oberon ride next sunday 16 JAN weather permitting.

i cant say for sure if i will be a starter...but i will try to get there. not sure of my plans for the weekend.

We need to seriously look at our next "overnighter" I think a lot of people will be put off if it's too far.

But the Oxley is too good to miss, I will revive the planning thread.
