Oggy Knobbs finally fitted!
After much pondering and a lack of feed-back to my queries from Obby Knobbs Technical section - I had a fit of DIYitis in response to today's stay-at-home rain.
It was relatively straight forward, but NOT easy. I had trouble finding a second 14 mm socket to get off the main engine mount bolt - it needed to be held at both ends, so a second person would have been great. Suzuki certainly don't forget to tighten any of the nuts - I thought I was going to strip my cheap socket and I had to put a rubber mallet to the hex key I used to undo the lower engine mount nut.
I did use Loctite when reassembling.
Getting the radiator hose back on was a bugger - and having to half remove the fuel tank to refill the radiator was no fun. Hint: When refilling radiator pour VERY SLOWLY - it wants to bubble lock and spill at the slightest provication.
Took me an hour and a bit - but that included going inside to check some things on the Workshop Manual on the computer [ a link I got from this site and for which I am most grateful! ]
RESULT:
The front bar has a gentle curve to ensure that it clears the mudguard - or maybe I just haven't got that quite right yet!
Of course the extra strengthening now makes my Bandit the best track bike in Australia - or maybe NOT.
I have to say I finally went ahead with the fitting after watching a Cycle Torque video on fitting engine mount Oggy Knobbs to a Suzuki Sports Bike - and the way they performed it a slow-speed crash soon thereafter.
Do I like the look? Can't say it is very noticeable to my eyes and I certainly don't think it will bother me.
P.S. Can you pick the other 2 mods on the bike I so wanted to keep entirely standard? Next I will be fitting a full titanium exhaust system .. only kidding!

Oggy Knobs finally fitted
This is very interesting as I have been humming and hahing(?) about getting them fitted after my messy fall in the driveway. I was reading the other thread and everyone's ideas and that left me still wondering. But it's good to see them fitted because it all looked very obtrusive at first. And I wondered about the effect of the bar on the radiator and mudguard. But that bar seems to clear both. They are expensive little knobs all the same. But then my bike ended up with over $2500 worth of damage from that one little fall...

originally I had the ozzy knobs version, but when I was knocked off the insurance company replaced them with the oggy's - much better appears to be more solid. the ozzy's replaced one of the engine mount bolts!

They are big and expensive but I would'nt be without them...also have heavy duty Bark Busters to protect from the topples I am sure I will have. ( have weakness due to medical problems ) .... would not take delivery of the bike until Oggys were fitted..........Grumpy ( think they would make good "Cruiser " foot rests on long trips)
