GLOBE REPLACEMENT - 07 1250S
The headlights on the GSFS is a bit, how you say, dim....Was thinking of bumping wattage, or installing LED's
Is there a good replacement option ?
Does anyone have views on higher wattage ?
Also, on the S, do you have to remove the gauges to do the globes ?

Higher wattage, equals more heat. Possible chance of causing brown out, ie, reflector goes brown/ burnt. A lot of led type globes don't suit the reflector pattern so don't work well. Quite a few led conversion globes do NOT meet adr standards, off road Only, has it On the box. ( I bought some at S/cheep the other week) So stick to the brighter halogen versions.
I added extra led lights & switch block to mine.

Yeah, am gonna buy some superwhite type globes.....i am so used to the white light of LED's in bad weather at night....lights up the lines so well...
I have some really good LED wedge types for the marker lights, just love the look ....
I don't want to go higher wattage because of the damage to wiring, really need to do a relay and direct to battery for that crap...plus what it does t the lens and reflector.
I got some quite good LED H4's in my old SV, and they were awesome......will scratch my head on it for a bit longer

Re: GLOBE REPLACEMENT - 07 1250S
I've mentioned this every time the subject of Bandit lighting comes up. The main issue with the Bandit is that it uses sub-standard wire gauge and routes the power for the bulbs through a number of switches and connectors. The battery pumps out about 13v, it's not unusual to see this dropped to 9v by the time it gets to the bulb.
Almost all upgrades should include new wiring, so before spending money on bigger wattage bulbs, HID or LED, I'd recommend getting anew heavy duty wiring direct from the battery, through a fuse and good relay wired up to the bulb connector. Also wire the other side of the bulb to chassis with the thicker wire as well. Use the existing OEM wires to control the relay.
You might just find that the original bulbs aren't all that bad after all.
You can go down a deep rabbit hole chasing different bulbs, I know....
But the results were worth it in the end....

Thanks for that reply..
I have heard of doing this sort of thing before, butas soon as electrical wiring is mentioned.... boom goes my brain.
I would need a schematic...ha ha
Assume the relay is out up under the dash?
