NSW plus 45kmh , walking for 6 months, effective immediately. Confiscation a big possibility, rego cancelled, can't be rego'd even if sold till end of suspension. Possible $2300 fine, etc, etc.

That's something new on top of these
Then there is the release fee if it gets impounded for a minimum 28 days (most likely will happen at +30kmh), that's just gone up too

Re: New hoon laws in SA
Not sure this will stop the few drongos at the core of these laws who have little , or no regard for laws , but I suppose it will look like steps are being made to stop them . We seem to have had a spate of incidents here in SA lately with either unlicensed riders , stolen bikes ,or a riders ability far out weighed by their ego and lack of experience . There seems to be little regard for loss of life or the prospect of being maimed of either themselves , or more importantly other people who get tangled up in their escapades . There is a time and place for everything , but this fact seems to elude some individuals ; they just don't give a shit .

I disagree with monetary fines as I don't think it sends the right message to the offender.
What I think is that community service i.e. roadside rubbish collection is a real inconvenience to the offenders.
Unfortunately the government don't make any money.

Re: New hoon laws in SA
NSW - 1600% Increase in under 10kmh speeding fines since removal of signs and markings on roadside camera cars.
" Reducing road toll by up to 40 lives by removal" was the BS spiel.
In my too young to get my L plate days, I was a passenger/pillion of and a unlicensed driver/rider.
Lost licence, again unlicensed driver/ rider till caught, then just unlicensed for a couple of months. Judge said " get caught again, bring your tooth brush".
Many times my ego and imagination have smashed my ability, no major damage, just bent bike, cuts and bruises,
filled undies and a urgent need for a ciggie.
On Cobar trip regularly found out to be 40-50 over, no worries,
a time and place for everything.
Unfortunately roadside rubbish collection costs a fortune by the time you hire traffic control, working briefing etc as required by law.
"Bring your toothbrush" has always been in my head.

Re: New hoon laws in SA
Make associated costs i.e. traffic control the responsibility of the offender. and their responsibility.
They will either get a whole new respect for other road users or cease to be a road user themselves.
It's also a great way to create more employment, lots of traffic controllers
