06 Bandit exhaust replacement
Hey everyone,
Have recently got my 06 1200 back on the road after parking it up in the garage for 2 years.
Freshly serviced, new oils, new front brake pads, new fork seals... running like a dream.... almost!!!
My mechanic has told me i should really consider replacing the exhaust as it has to run somewhat lean in it's current form (the last owner appears to have cut the can back maybe 2 inches, removed baffles etc - i never bothered with it before now, but it's obnoxiously loud and I'm sure my neighbours will only enjoy listening to the songs of our people at 5am each morning for so long)
I tend the agree that it should be replaced if only to improve how it runs.
Problem is, google is not my friend, and I'm having a lot of problems finding one that will fit.
Has anyone replaced theirs? Was it hard to find one? Where did you find it? How much did you pay? etc etc
Any help, suggestions, pointing of fingers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!!!
Cheers!!!!

Re: 06 Bandit exhaust replacement
Geez, the previous owner did a good job cutting that back.
Have a look in the product review section of this forum might be some pointers in there.
Google is not my friend either but I sourced and bought a akrapovic (I think) as I think a few members on here have them, the money was right etc.
It was a while back but from memory the whole process from ordering to fitting took a few short weeks.
From memory $$ was a few hundred no more than $3.00. (I'm tight)
Good Luck.

When you say "cut back Exhaust 2"", are we talking about the Can or Headers?

Can you show us a pic where it was cut. I dont know why anyone would bother . Removing its internals would be a nightmare .

a mate cut back his GTR exhaust, left remaining internals and sounds the same.
my bafflectomy tool used to be 1/2" steel bar very, very sharp point on it.
