2010 1250 Bandit - Can't start when warm
Hi all.
I have had this twice now with my bike. A cold start is fine. But when I pull into a shop, and try to start soon after, there is no response, feels like a flat battery. I took it into the local Canberra Motorcycle Centre and they replaced the battery in May this year - fixed. But I am starting to have the same issues again, and today it just didn't start at all.
Apart from battery, any ideas on what it could be? I am a car guy and I would say it was the alternator, but not quite as confident with bikes.
Thanks

Yep, the starter. Totally stuffed. I have had this problem since I bought the bike with only 7,000kms' on it. Now 40,000 and it runs better than ever.

I'm glad you've got it sorted.
Mine had done over 50,000 when it died, from new I could always smell a slight electrical smell when it was hot, I haven't smelt the same odour since the new one was fitted, even after riding to/from work on a recent 42 degree day

I think mine went south at 24k but it wouldn’t start cold when it finally jammed

Bandit won't fire up,
I have replaced my fuel pump, filter, and ultrasound cleaned the gauze filter in the pump housing, the bike will prime and I have checked that I'm getting spark to all plugs, will turn over but it tries to start but won't fire up, I can't think of anything else, has anyone got an idea what I can do next? Many thanks,

Try cleaning the CKP connector, its one of the connectors that sit just above the starter motor.
It only has two wires, red/black and red /yellow, my son had this problem with his 1250 and the connector was full of crap, a quick clean and it was good as new.
The connector isn't well sealed from the elements.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, I'll give it a go, it turns over fine but won't fire up, it tries to but won't catch. Doing my head in.
