I took a 2013 KLR650 for a ride with the intent to buy. Nope, wont be buying - gutless, skittish, needed ro rev the motor before it even started to feel good. I know its not a tenere but wondering if the feel of a tenere is as non impressive as a klr650.

Had a 95 XTZ660 3yf,got it cheap <1k but it ran like a dog,the intake boots were cracked and gunked over. Looked into it and went for new boots and a Chinese mikuni knockoff,$75,boots $175,all fitted in snug with minor mods/cable,airbox. Went really well, very responsive.

Plenty of good roads for that beast in Tasmania

Corinna Road would be one of my first but I'm sure there's heaps more equal or better

Confession time: I was going to exchange the Bandit for an 800 Tiger... Mad...  until I rode a Tiger. I had to pull in the clutch and blip the throttle to make sure the motor was running!

Finances permitting, I'd still buy one as a second bike, for gravel. There's a guy running courses here. I told him I'm 63, he says no prob.

But I'm not letting go of the Bandit. Top class tourer. Comfortable, fast, reliable.
