1250FA Lower Fairing
Does any one know if the FA upper fairing can be used without the lower fairing? Do the securing points require both fairings to be in place?

I'll take a guess and say they would need each other for rigidity. You probably could make up brackets to suit or you could buy a GSF1250S

The easiest way to find out, would be to pull the bottom off and have a look, then go from there.

exactly what I was thinking but I'd had a few beers when I first read the post and backed off because I couldn't think of a way to say it as polite as you did2wheelsagain wrote:Alheng wrote:Does any one know if the FA upper fairing can be used without the lower fairing? I like the GSF but for some reason they seem to be priced higher then the GSX, hence the question. Have seen a few bikes and will make a decision soon.

Ive had the lowers off for service work. Looks kinda silly but would be ridable.
Least you get a GPI and shift light.

It could be done but it looks bloody stupid, like something isn't right.
You would need to rig up something for the indicators as they are attached to the lower fairing. The wiring however comes from the top.
