Problems with Neutral light 1250

Hi all, my Gsx1250fa has after 25300km's for the first time thrown up a fault. Nothing major but suddenly the neutral light won't come on (sometimes) when changing back from 2nd to neutral. It always comes on shifting from 1st to neutral. Is the switch knackered? and is this a big job?
Also the same day the message ``chec`` came up on the display and I was unable to start the engine, after switching off the ignition and back on
all was ok and she started up fine no probs no more warnings?any ideas any info welcome thanks.

common problem , you can either try cleaning the neutral switch or replace it

I tried cleaning mine , but eventually had to replace it ( the newer ones are updated )
