Hi

I have a 2010 1250 Bandit.  Great bike.  Love it.  I am not a long time bike enthusiast, so I know very little about them.  Stick an old V8 Ford in front of me, and I'm fine.  A lot to learn I'm afraid.  Just before Christmas it started to produce a 'squealing' time noise when I started the bike (for a few seconds).  Runs fine, no issues.  Then, after a week or so, the noise disappeared.  But then it re-appeared again yesterday.  I have had the bike looked at in 'general'.  My mechanic (over the phone) said it could be the starter clutch (maybe not the correct term).  Anyone had this before?  Thanks a lot

Ahhh I remember this well. The squeal will become a "crack" then you'll think the battery is going.
My money is on the starter magnets coming adrift from the casing. Do a search here for starter issues.

Thanks a lot.  Yes, from my limited experience with the Bandit, the magnets coming loose seems to be a common thing.  The noise has disappeared again now.  Will look at this weekend Smile

I was going to suggest fan belt but I am not mechanically minded at all so may pay to get a second opinion. Smile
