New to here and have fitted cruise control GSX1250FA
Names Brian. I have a 2011 GSX1250FA. It was suggested I join this group as many of you would be interested in the cruise control I have fitted.
But first I'd like to go through some of my other additions/modifications. I have the usual heated hand grips, touring screen and panniers. I've changed sprockets to correct the speedo error, opened the air box up and removed the computer controlled butterflies from the throttle bodies. I've fitted both USB and 12 volt power for the phone and camera mounts as well as an external air temperature gauge.
High beam is assisted by a set of LED spotties and the there's the cruise control.
The cruise control is a off the shelf Rostra Universal unit that I made a waterproof control panel for. The initial installation was far to aggressive so I changed the way it's operates at the throttle bodies by having a fixed wire from a bracket just below the fuel tank and down to the throttle and around the cam of the arm. This wire is pulled in the centre at right angles so a large movement of the control wire makes a small movement of the bottom of the throttle wire. I estimate this divides the controller units movement by four.
I use it it at speeds of 80 and above. At 80 it can hunt a little unless I drop to 4th. At 100-110 in top gear it's better than any factory car cruise at maintaining speed. As any rider of these bikes know there isn't much throttle needed so this system hasn't failed to hold speed yet for me.
If you follow the links below you can see all my pics from various trips and some of the work done.
Link hopefully provided by 2waa new friend as I can't post links yet as a new member.

Re: New to here and have fitted cruise control GSX1250FA
Awesome stuff.
I'm interested in Cruise myself and have noticed others have added it to other bikes but not the GSX/Bandit range.
Although I wouldn't use it very often as I would rule it only for freeway use and I generally avoid freeways like the plague.
currently I got a Omni-cruise attach to my throttle, but i find it awkward to use. It needs to be very tight to stay in position and even then it eventually slips. Plus it is effected by road elevation.

Re: New to here and have fitted cruise control GSX1250FA
Ha, I have a cruise control which was supposedly fitted by pros in Melbourne, and it doesn't work. I took bike to local suzuki, where I bought her, and they made excuses that the business in Melbourne were closed for holidays, so fuck it, I'll just have to keep hand on the throttle...
Oh and welcome to the forum.

The letter is not a lower case L. It is a letter i (eye)
