Re: Cruise Control
I have the vista throttle lock on my 02 Bandit. Works well as a throttle lock, not so well as a cruise control. I doubt any of the 'throttle locks' will actually hold your speed going up a hill.

Re: Cruise Control
yeah good point mick, poor choice of description from them/ me i think. I would not be expecting it to perform as a cruise control, more ease of use as a "throttle lock".

The KING of cruise controls!
Forget those cheap and nasty throttle locks, if you're going to do something then do it properly!

I'm fitting mine next week, so will post up some pics when I'm done.

Well.........
I'm waiting.
I have been going to buy one of these for ages, so I am very interested in your thoughts on the install and it's use.
I'm waiting.

Looks good so far. I do not think however that the vacuum actuator bottle will fit under the fairing on my 2010 fa???? This could be a problem.

I have a 2010 GSX1250FA, which is what the unit is installed on.
Unless you've put something else in the space, then it'll fit.

Just one example of the "plug & play" set up of the cruise control. Seen here is the one for the clutch switch. The harness basically piggy backs into the factory loom. The only place it doesn't is for the tachometer (pulse) detection, which requires you to splice into the ignition lead of cylinder 1.

No different really than what you'd expect from a car that has cruise control fitted. There is a little "surge" on and off the throttle when going down hill (as the computer tries to manage the throttle against the effects of gravity), but it's nothing to write home about.
I find the higher the speed the better (and smoother) the control. I basically only want it for freeway use anyway, and on the few tests I've done so far (M2, M7, M5 - ranging 80 - 110 km/h) it's worked perfectly. Around town (40 - 60 km/h) I've found the speed "wanders" a little, but it's nothing too annoying, nor to any extent that would see you getting a ticket. With a bit of toying around you can further refine the throttle pull to your liking though, making it "wander" a little less than what it does with the factory settings. Having said that, after giving it some thought I've come to the conclusion that it's just the result of the 1250 being such a torquey motor that can easily increase speed with relatively minor throttle openings, especially in the lower gears which is where you are when riding at 40 - 60 km/h. As I said though, at freeway speeds (and consequently higher gears) it's fine.
Basically, spend the time to set it up properly and you'll have no complaints.

No problems there Gus, I used to be an auto electrician.
As far as the cruise control is concerned, it comes with a fantastic troubleshooting guide that is quite comprehensive in walking you through the diagnosis and repair of whatever ails the system.
