Motor not cranking over?
Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?
Starter motor is turning, battery is ok but engine will not turn over.
Mechanic suggested engine clutch on the cam is not engaging.
(May not be the best description due to my limited knowledge and aptitude )

Three things to check. Fuel. Spark. Compression.

And a dodgy starter motor. Have you tried a roll start? I bet the starter gear is not throwing out

I've had a similar issue in the past. I rocked the bike whilst in gear and then went through the normal start procedure and it played the game and fitted into life. Failing that roll starting it is.

It will be a starter issue but I need to ask how good is the battery?

Sounds like some sort of fuel blockage. ??? Bikes are like females. We never really figure them out.

I wouldn't mind betting you had a similar issue to reddog, perhaps something in the starter clutch that freed itself up when being played withRodroket wrote:Thanks for the feed back guys.

Hope its not the same issue, starter sounds ok. Had the starter motor issue on my old DL1000, heading of on along weekend and it crapped itself.
