Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
First topic message reminder :
Who's planning on doing the WSBK's in February, and who is interested in getting a house on the island?
There are plenty of options but we'd need to know who wants to join in to get a idea of what size place we'd need?
Going
Hammy + Mate
Ewok & Bev

reddog and Mrs reddog
Barry & Axle

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
Question to the accommodation organizer. I think that's you Max. Is there room for 1 other male in the house. A good friend of mine up here is pretty keen and he is a really nice guy. ( a bit like me ) He rides a K13 though. But if you let him come then I can have some rides on his Bemmer . Of course it will reduce the rent cost for everyone as well.

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
Update: I have got a love shit surf shack 100 yards away from BBQ HQ.
But it filled a quick smart. Staying there is a not very active forum member and his better half. And If any of you remember John on the BMW S1000R from the Parkes meet, he's coming down too.
I should be heading north with Ewok to pick up Hammy and arriving Thursday at the Island with everyone else.
Monday, John and me will be doing the Afterburners Track Day and Tuesday, John heads home and I'll see if I can pick up whoever's doing the mountains tour following the meet.

Good one Hash. Don't bring the KTM though. . Are the two of you planning on riding up to Tamworth as Ewok mentioned earlier ? I'm sure he has already planned out several different routes with military precision, including fuel and rest stops.
C Ya Soon.

I sat down with DavEwok while he formulated a (many) plan(s) and at the end of the process I said "You go first, I'll follow you"
No KTM for this one - everyone else calculates their fuel range. On the KTM I calculate my mechanical component lifespan range.

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
Hey guys, two things:
First, I just rang WSBK ticket sales as there is no mention of a cut-off date for pre-race sales, and I see they have decided to use Ticketek this year (unfortunately IMHO). The Ticketek system doesn't want to give out a free ticket if we buy 7, per the Group Bonus option but the nice Haley said that that is just Ticketek not being able to cope (great arrangement!). But she can process a purchase at her end over the phone if we want to proceed. I also expect there will be an admin fee from Tickteck so the full price is more likely to be something like 7 X $120 = $840 / 8 = $105. There is no cutoff date for pre-purchasing the tickets so the only consideration is making sure we leave enough to get the tickets so that we all have one prior to the Fri. I'm happy to do the group purchase if we are all in.
Secondly, how is the house rental going - I've only paid the $17 or so MM asked for the original joint which fell through but have we definitely secured the Surf Beach place and do I owe someone some $$$?
Cheers

Dave the Surf Beach booking is reserved with the original deposit I was required to pay. I believe at the time everyone paid their share, which I think (without looking it up) was around the $32 mark.
Since then there has been a couple of extras added, your missus included. This should change things in the final calculations. When I get the final amount from the manager I will divide it all up equally minus the amount that some of us have already paid. Then let everyone know what they need to pay.

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
Just to confirm. I have checked with my bank
Deposits paid ($32.5) are as follows
Ewok x1
Madmax x1
Hammy x 1
Chook x1
Reddog x2
Those still to pay in full, but don't worry about it just yet until I get the final price
barry_mcki x 1 (not sure if there will be a charge for Axel)
Hammy's mate x 1
Ewok x 1 (for Bev)
Hopefully that clears it all up

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
Thanks for all the organising things Bryan & Dave, Axel and I are still coming, and I'm still interested in a group buy ticket.
Bryan if there is an extra fee for Axel don't add it to the group cost, I'll pay it in full.

Does that mean we can't take the group discount approach as we now only have 7 needing tickets (unless Hammy's mate is in the ?

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
I'd ordered mine before that was mentioned (earlier the same day IIRC), there's probably others from house #2 that could go in to a group booking, I'm pretty sure madmax has already ordered his as well

Re: Phillip Island WSBKs (2016 National Meet)
Was talking to me mate Barry on Friday about him coming down to PI Supers. He is 99% certain that he will make it. He is sailing his brand new yacht down to Tassie in January and should be back in time. He is going away sailing shortly and I suggested that he leave the keys to his K13 with me just to keep the battery topped up. He agreed ! I have wanted to ride it for ages to see if the hype around them is true. Don't even think that Barry has tested the power shifter yet.

You lucky bugger. But if you like it too much you'll regret it as the urge to trade-up with niggle away at you!

He even told me to take it over to the mainland for a good ride if I wanted to.
I'll give it a nice detail before he gets back.

Any chance you can get the keys to the yacht instead?
Let him ride to Tassie then you can pick us all up on your way through sailing to the The Island.
