Suzi now has a big arse!
My V35 panniers turned up on Friday so of course I had to fit them immediately.
Of course not everything goes as planned when you've already modified your bike. Givi make great stuff, but of course its all designed to fit the stock bike.
Mine has the R+G tail tidy on it so I had some extra challenges getting the licence plate light to fit.
The R+G licence pate light is a tiny led unit and normally looks neater than the factory one.
Unfortunately it has to very small threads sticking out of it that couldn't possibly be used to attach the Givi indicator bracket.
With some minor unseen modifications I managed to refit the OEM light instead. This of course covers the holes in the bracket where as the R+G one wouldn't have.
The other problem is of course the aftermarket exhaust, in my case a Staintune
I think there is enough clearance, what do you think?
The black panels will be painted blue to match the topbox as soon as my neighbour has the time to do it for me.
One other thing I found was the panniers came with an extra lock barrel so you can have the topbox on the same key.
I didn't know this was going to be the case so I ordered a 3 lock barrel set, which of course I no longer need

Looks neat mate ................the exhaust should be fine , it seems to be when the gasses are pointing at it there are problems .

Yep - did the same thing, luckily they weren't that expensive, ended up giving the spare set away.
I think you have even more clearance than my Yoshi and V35's, no problems with mine, but if you're worried there's been a couple of recent posts on here on how to move the exhaust down.
And no my dear, your bum doesn't look big in that....

€24 = about $40 I've asked the seller if he'll take it back as a return. If not I'll try and sell it myself.
I did manage to get a few more mm clearance by loosing of the can and pushing down on it while I tightened it up.

Well I haven't heard from the seller so more than happy to sell it to you.
You need to be sure you have this style key
The kit is not compatible with the older red key system

Bricks and mortar retailers could learn a few tips from online sellers.madmax wrote:Just got a reply from the seller regarding the extra lock barrels and keys

I did, they are the same people I got the topbox from. When the time came to buy the panniers I went straight back to them, didn't even shop around.

Re: Suzi now has a big arse!
Sounds like great service! By the way, I don't see a problem with your pipe and the pannier. I have a Yoshi pipe that is shorter (not by much) and have done a few long trips with no exhaust heat issues. I had a short Yoshi on prior to the one I have now and made a shield for it because I was worried about melting the pannier as others have done.
Re: Suzi now has a big arse!
Don't worry about the heat from your Staintune pipe.
I've got Kappa K33 mounted using the same PLX-529 Givi kit that carries your V35's.
Nearest part of exhaust is the top rear of my Staintune.
25mm clearance on mine.
No heat shield.
No heat damage at all after nearly one year on the bike (7,000km mixed commute/touring).
Not the best photos, but check out the clearance at the narrowest point, and the condition of the pannier, including the little 'foot' which is closest to the Staintune... no dramas

Re: Suzi now has a big arse!
Nice. The coloured covers look great. I use an LED taillight that has a clear window on the bottom to illuminate a plate. The OEM one is blacked out. That may be worth looking at

Re: Suzi now has a big arse!
my arse is way fatter than yours.
Picked up the 41L boxes from Jim this arvo.
BIG.
Risked riding Brown mountain corners tight.... even though they are big they are still a decent height so no chance of me hitting the ground with them
Love it.
