Long time reading, first time writing!

Thought I'd join the disussions now after getting my 2nd Bandit over Easter.

Used to have a 2005 model and put 115 000 GLORIOUS kilometers on her and saw most of South East NSW and Vic over the 8 years!

Now I found a new 2010 model hidden out the back of a shop for 2 years and decided to upgrade. Its all Black the way I want it.

Got a few little ideas for exhaust, braided lines, rear underseat/fender eliminator, tinted screen etc.

Any other ideas from anyone???

R&G fender eliminator, neater job as no cutting. Dearer though.
Heated grips.
Airbox mods.
Aftermarket headers.
HID Lights.
Sargent or Corbin seat.
Bags and racks

Thanks for the ideas. I've always heard about heated grips, coming into winter they'll be a good investment.

I did notice the seat is harder than my 2005 model, maybe it just has to be worn in after a couple of rides.

A Top box will be handy also.

Welcome Truck. Some more suggestions:
- muffler (a Yoshi R77 carbon can goes well with the black engine but there are plenty of others)
- radiator guard
- mirror extenders
- speedo healer
- gear position indicator
- belly pan
- bling (wheel rim stickers, carbon petrol tank cap, etc)

Wouldn't bother with the braided lines until you have a few years on them...changed mine early and there was no perceivable difference.
Have a near new Puig Racing double bubble tinted screen if you are interested.

I like the look of the Yoshi, also the Two Brothers Black edition or the Scorpion Carabine?

I got a Radguard and fitted it in around 10mins, nice and easy. Also did the headlight guard from Aus Motorcycle Headlight Protectors. The old one (2005) took a few stones head on and survived well.

Its taking a little while to get used to the 6 speed box rather than the old 5 speed. Some of my favourite corners in the Nasho Park have to be taken a little different in a lower gear. Thats all the fun of a new bike I suppose.

The list of mods are almost endless.
The rad guard was a good place to start and plenty have have Yoshi penis extensions too.
A rear hugger is my next purchase.
I have a dark screen on my FZ but removing the Bandit screen looks like a nightmare of a job so the stocker staying.

Front suspension mods could be a priority depending on where & how you ride.

Welcome Truck Bandit, I have an old 04' oil burner so I can't help you with fancy fuel injected engine mods ( theres plenty of info on the site ) but a Yoshi can would be a good place to start. Unlike many others Yoshis have always been made for Suzukis. They may be a little dearer but theres no substitute for quality. Headers are also a good thing but the jury is out at the moment on what brand as one of our members is having a hell of a time with a certain brand. I have those headers though as do others and we've had no drama. I think he just got sent a crook set, which is a bloody shame. Anyway thats my 2c worth, looking forward to reading your posts, Jimmy.

Thanks guys for all of the ideas, they'll certainly keep me busy over the next few weeks in order what to decide!

I hope this weekend has some good weather so I can get out into the Royal Nasho park , Macquarie Pass and the Highlands.

As others have pointed out, there's lots you can do to the Bandit to make it tour better, ride faster, brake better, handle better, light up the road better, sound better, cosset your arse better and just make you feel better. The main thing is to decide what you want to improve on for your particular riding style. Engine mods liberate a lot more power, but you can use more of what you already have with improving brakes and suspension. Lots to choose from, and welcome to our collective obsessions!

We will all tell you what has worked for us (or not), so ask away.

Welcome to the fold mate.

Braided front lines, back is fine with the soft rubber hose IMO.
Fork brace is a must if you plan to do mountain roads with switchbacks etc.
Plenty of mods to unleash the berries. The forum is a veritable treasure trove of hints and tips. Just look around.
Take it easy and may you keep the rubber side down.

just a quick update to let you know of the little mods I've done.

Black Goodridge Braided brakes lines for front and reat
Oggy Knobs
Dark Tinted Screen
Underseat unit with internal brake/blinker led lights.
I'll pick it up tomorrow and can't wait to fire up the beast on Saturday morn to hear that noise.

Still thinking of:
Fork brace
Single seat unit cover
K&N Filter at next service.

I've been so happy with it so far and have put 2700kms on her already!
