First topic message reminder :

Hi All

I sold my Bandit 18 months ago but I,m looking to buy a current model GSF1250 to do up with HP up grade and was hoping to replace the suspension as well has any one change the front suspension with a after market or out of a late model sports bike and info would be much appreciated.

Hi Reardo,

I am assuming u know what case hardening is and are asking
about the issue with the Yoshi’s. Had a
chat with local dyno guy and he mentioned it.
I know that you are meant to run new cams in and suspect that many in
their keenness do not and possibly this is the cause. I don’t believe that the Japs in general and
Yoshi in particular do things like this in a half-arsed fashion.

I run the theory that effective mods cause the engine to
flow more air; therefore you need more fuel.
That being the case…I am hoping that extensive additional fuel will be
required as this will mean we are making a lot more power! Bottom line is anything that actually works
will require a remap to insert the right amount of additional fuel.

This is why I am suspicious of any mod that claims to
increase power but says it does not require any mixture compensation.

I expect/hope that the torque may drop (a little) in the 4 – 5 K area
and increase in the 7 – 8K band; this could potentially unleash quite a few
more neddies.

For me, this is a journey about understanding how my bike
works and how to ride it…but we are getting towards the end of the Bandit’s
development as I don’t wish to compromise it’s abilities as a road bike.

Got an email this morning to say that they shipped the cams yesterday!

Regards Peter

Without Ram air it's still going to run out of puff up the top end. With aggressive cams you may lose the user friendliness of the motor. I am still keen to hear how you go Dekenai

Arrived Monday! Box looks almost exactly the same as the one the high comp 74mm pistons for the GSX1100E were packaged in 30 odd years ago. Boy, did seeing that take me back, still remember the excitement!

RD, well that's true. Still, quite a few blokes are having trouble getting past...even had a comment from a guy on a zx14 that he was having to work hard. Eventually, (like in the next year) I will pick up a GSXR750K8-L0 stat write off and get serious.
