The Barge Commute.
Went for a little 200k sqwert this morning over to the mainland. Just cause I felt like it. Its a lesurely 45 minute trip each way on one of the barges. Nice and relaxing. On the way back I took a few snaps. The second one shows coming into our island, Macleay, on the left. Karragarra on the right. You can see my bike waaaaaaaaay down the front. We park at right angles on the barges incase the skipper hits a pylon too hard when coming in. Have heard stories of bikes going down on deck. Ouch ! I noticed this sign on one of the hatches. Bugger the poor passengers. Each man for himself.

Re: The Barge Commute.
I suppose it would be cheaper on petrol going on trips on the barge instead of riding your bike

Hmm, 1 truck, a couple of cars and a bike. Are you worried the service is going to be cut back?

Theres actually 3 trucks there. And no. At the prices they charge, one full trip would cover their costs for the day. Over any holiday period it is hard to get on one. Thats why I love having the bike. We will always fit .
