IXIL muffler - a larger manhood
Hello All,
Well, due to the prolonged badgering, pestering and general shit stirring , oh, and Baz' need to thin out his garage, Ive ended up with something I swore I'd never have. A carbon look penis enlarger . Wow, all I can say is.......2WA's rough sketch in NOW a reality ! The missus is very happy, and now I can feel like a man !
If you dare, feel free to browse the attached pics of a "before" and "after".
Rightio, a few of the necessary tools........ oh, and sorry Gus, my hatchet broke at the start of winter so I had to make do.
[img][/img]
Away with the old one....
[img][/img]
a liberal smear of exhaust sealer around the flange, and then on with the new one.....
[img][/img]
[img][/img]
It even came with a centre stand bung bracket, but no slippers. See......
[img][/img]
and there's still room to move.....
[img][/img]
Ive started and run the engine to heat thing up, but a full ride will have to be tomorrow.
Verdict so far:-
Nice build quality
Simple to install - Everything line up like it was meant to be
Louder than stock - as you would expect
A few backfires after a reasonable throttle on/throttle off
Baffle still in at this point.
Now I have to find a place in the garage to stuff my old manhood ...getting a collection of those!
Well that's it. Im tired now.

Looks good mate ( the muffler I mean ............can't see the manhood ) seeing as it's black , you won't need to put that anti-glare coating on it like your old muffler had

Re: IXIL muffler - a larger manhood
Gus,
Your mate Mr Sponge dropped in today. Geeez he can waste some time!!!
[img][/img]
It IS nice having a clean Bandit......
I took her for a squirt thru the local hills with one of my young blokes. The new exhaust has got a nice crackle n pop on throttle off .......! I might have to look for a longer rubber stop for the centre stand as it hits the underside of my boot on the occasional bumpy road. Otherwise, it sounds great!
Ive got some more pics I'll throw up in the calendar section.

Re: IXIL muffler - a larger manhood
2WA, I had to get some brake pads sized up (for the people mover), and a trip from the city down Dandenong road had 3 near misses within a 35 minute trip! Bloody tin tops didnt see or hear me .
I was looking for a muffler of some description, but could justify spending that sort of cash on anything for the Bandit. Then Baz dropped his price, and the missus saw the advert......and that was it ! Cant pass up a bargin
Until now, the Bandit has been the only bike I'd left the original muffler on!

If anyone else is chasing an IXIL pipe there is a guy on ASB that does discounts on them. I think his username is "demon" or "the demon"
They look like a good pipe for the price.

Re: IXIL muffler - a larger manhood
If you make a little L bracket (30mm-+) A hole in each end .A bung in one end a hole in the other .Attatch to that clamp .Presto ,center stand stop .
One that doesnt go up and down as you ride .TERRIBLE IDEA. Really annoying when it hits your heal all the time .

Re: IXIL muffler - a larger manhood
Im going to see what my options are with the centre stand brkt which came with the muffler. I coud glue n screw a bit more rubber to the existing bung, or just make up a deeper C shaped brkt. The centre stand is pissin me off now, bangin away at my boot. Im riding on tippy toes just to avoid it .
I ran a tank thru to see what my economy/consumption is with the new manhood, and found there was no change......so......baffle is coming out tonight .

I'm not sure we can handle the extra extra manhood if you do that
