Hi everyone, I have just ridden back from Adelaide to Brisbane after picking up my latest bandit. It is my first 1250 SA, after having two 2005 1200S models. Love the mark. It is an 08 and it had just over 3000km on it when I picked it up. Now over 6. Had a Yoshi pipe on it and I added, up and back risers from my last bike, along with tank cover. Have installed top box, which I had to modify the rail positioning so I could get the top box level, as it was leaning forward when in standard setup. Will post photo when have downloaded from phone.
Did the trip in two days after Virgin left my tank bag in Brisbane and had to wait till late in the day to pick it up off the next Brisbane flight.
Bike went like a train. Has noticeably more torque than the 1200. Last two bikes had 75000km and 60000km on them when sold, never missing a beat.
Look forward to contributing to discussions. Happy riding.

Welcome Dingo 1963 and thanks for introducing yourself.
Normally when southern folk come north to QLD they end up taking up residency.
You sound like you will have a lot of experiences to share and contribute.

Thanks for the welcome. The bike was priced equivalent to bikes with 30 to 50k on them in Queensland, so yes a good price. Also I enjoy the big rides, my weekend ride is a goldwing (armchair for the wife). Although the seat is renowned to be hard, I didn't find it too bad, first day 980km with a sheepskin. Ride was much improved though on day 2, with adding the airhawk for the 1100km+ ride home. Home by 6.30pm on day 2, which I thought was pretty good going.
I had designed and had made a custom seat for the last bandit (read, keep wife happy) which I am getting replicated over the next week or so. Incorporated a pommel so no slipping, along with shaped areas for the pillions legs and a back support for the rider. I will post photo once complete.
Just got crashbars in mail today (Fehlings), looking forward to having the added protection on board.
Talk to you again soon.

I own Dingo1963's second Bandit (we're work colleagues) with the custom seat and my wife loves that custom seat (as do I, happy wife, happy life).
