Gears.........
We bought a s]hand Honda Accord $2500 .It crunched into 2nd and 3rd but at $2500 not a big problem as car was real nice .
Today i noticed the throttle cable was VERY loose where it joins EFI linkage so i adjusted it for about 2mm of play instead of about 25 mm and forgot about it .I drove the car an hour later and all gears were perfect ,no grating at all .What a nice surprise .
Haven't some people complained about gear changes on the Bandit ,might be worth checking the throttle play at the EFI joint .

Gears.........
Knew the chain could affect it , But I suppose a badly adjusted throttle may do something as well
