My K1 Bandit. Its got a 15/45. I thought it was a smaller sprocket. So as mine needs replacement is it worth going down to a 14 or should I go 16 just to be different ?

Have a go on this site Gear Commander . It will take you through all the changes you can think off and what the effects are, highly recommended.

On the 1200`s, from what I understand,a 14 can stress the chain abit, and the 16 will hit on the moulding of the front spocket cover, and needs to be trimmed to avoid grinding. It doesn`t need alot and wont hurt structual integrity,as it`s just a cover. I`ve experimented with a 46,then a 48 on the rear. The 48 is good, and I had it on for about a year. But as I do alot of highway,I put it back to standard 45.

If Iwas going to do a track day,or ride mountain twisties, then I would put the 48 back on.
