Belly pan saga .
Since i got a belly-pan (thanks Ironman )Ive spent a lot of time trying to get it right .It was imatation carbon so i thought that will save me carbonizing
it again .Took me ages to get the brackets in the right place ,that was the first problem .
Second ,was the fake carbon looked terrible against the real carbon so i had to carbonize it properly , more time .
End result was this .
Ok, but as someone said "looks bottom heavy ".I fully agread so took it off and put it away .It now looked like this .
Better.
But i had a perfectly good belly pan in the shed doing nothing .Figured i'd be better off a least trying to improve it (or stuff it )
To me it looked too solid and heavy .Also the front looked a bit high .
Re-adjust brackets ,again .
Out with the jig saw and some silver mesh .It now looks like this .[IMG]
Now i;m worried the mesh is too BRIGHT and should be like the motor .AAAARRRRRRRHHHHHH

I don't mind the color of the mesh as it matches the rad cover. I was thinking perhaps paint some of the mesh panels black and leave some silver so it matches the rad cover a bit closer.
*edit, cause those silver rims look so good, would love them on my bike, how did you paint or get the silver rims?

Looks good Gus. How about the mesh the same colour as the tank?
I was going to suggest black but maybe not.
I think it would scream at you if it was engine silver.

I love the mesh in the belly pan.
Can you also put mesh panels in the tank too?

Pardon the poor grade editing.
I think this would look good but I'd hate to actually be sitting down cutting it out though:

However stuff cutting it out, buy a sticker...
Thanks for the offer on the rims Gus, however you might be too far away for it to be an easy job

I thought you were Sunshine Coast same as me ,No ?
I'm not really a sticker kind of person and took off every one including the tank S's .I put those on the pan as a bit of a joke but thought they
kind of suit .

Gus, I'm with 2WA here on the idea of painting all the mesh bits the same colour as tank. Reckon it would top it off nice.

Re: Belly pan saga .
I got a bit bored with the belly pan . Never really got happy with it .Today when i wanted to jack up the front with a jack to take the front wheel off
it got in the way .Decided to remove it but i hate unused stuff in the shed so i thought how about two sides and NO CHIN .Thats the part that annoyed
me .Looked like the Chesty Bond man .I cut all the front out completely and all the underneath area .Then i cut both sides as small as possible .
I'll take a pic tomorrow , at the moment it looks trick .Each side is about 300 mm by 150 mm

Re: Belly pan saga .
Beautiful craftsmanship Gus! BUT NOW DON'T MESS WITH THE MESH! It would be a nightmare to get a perfect match with other colours and would make your other mesh bits look unfinished. Silver mesh makes sense .. you may as well say the hugger should be painted the same colour as the tank!
Leave it .. Love it!
IMHO of course.
