G'day from the mid north coast
G'day all, I've been lurking here for a month or so now to. Thought I'd better introduce myself. I've recently purchased a 2006 Bandit with approx 22,000kms on it. Now I'm just waiting to get my hands on it. I'm supposed to be heading to Ballina to pick it up on saturday, but if it's still raining like it is here in northern NSW, I think I'll wait just a bit longer. I don't really want to bin the thing in torrential rain while I'm bringing it home! I think the first thing I need to do to it is replace the muffler, it's too queit in standard form!
Tell me, is the seat on the '06' adjustable? as I noticed the front seat corners have been rubbing the frame, & worn the paint off the frame, & worn the corners of the seat.
Cheers, Steve

Ki-ora!
Not sure of the 1200 seat but mine shows rub marks on the fram.
I will be fixing that with some rubber strips.

welcome to the forum Kiwisteve / the 2006 , 1200 is the same frame & bodywork as the 2007 onward with the old motor so you can adjust the front section of the seat up or down depending where it is now set . just a couple of bolts and reverse the rubber blocks

Welcome from a Wellingtonian (Petone, to be precise).
If your 06 looks like the 1250, the seat is adjustable. Sometimes the 05 1200 models are sold in 06, registered in 06, but are a K5 model and the seat is not adjustable. There's detailed instructions available with pics on a pdf file I have, so if you need that, pm me and I'll email it to your private address.
Enjoy the forum. There's a few Kiwis on here now. (let the piss taking begin.....)

Re: G'day from the mid north coast
Hi Steve and welcome aboard. I have a K6 1200. Nice bike. My seat is set to the lowest setting and there is no sign of rubbing or wear. May something else, ie, a tank bag. Definately change the can and unleash a few more ponies. You may have to re-jet it then though. Will run on the lean side. Enjoy and post up some pics. Hope its a RED one.

You will have to forgive some of the posts that you read here Steve. As some members write as they ride. They twist the throttle, and THEN put the bike (brain) into gear.

I went from Christchurch to Auckland, so now consider myself in Far West Auckland!

Auckland! I was born there, (shhh, don't tell anyone). We got out of there as fast as we could,(I was 3). We spent the rest of my time in NZ around Mt Maunganui & Tauranga. That must mean I'm in far west Tga! lol
