Where to buy renthal road medium bars in Australia??
First topic message reminder :
I was in MCA Auburn today and they only had Renthal low bars. I asked if they had other sizes and was told no and was not asked if I wanted to order any. So I did not ask as it seemed to be all too hard to offer customer service.
So where else in Australia can I get these bars?

Re: Where to buy renthal road medium bars in Australia??
At first i hated them ,(lows) ,and around town still a bit suspect .
I got caught in the rain first day and it felt good to be a bit lower .On the open road they are great now i have got used to them .I love the
extra width of them also .(just a feel thing ).
Overall ,better .
I filed off the plastic locating pegs also but only 95% of it , leaving a bit to grip the bars .

Bloody Aussie suppliers ! You only get a choice of 2 colours here. Back or Silver. Overseas you can have Titanium, Grey, Gold, Red, Blue. And they wonder why we buy on-line and OS.

I have yet to notice any. Rode yesterday with Jan on the back for about 40kms and didn't notice any. Pushed the bike through some corners tonight on the way home from work and didn't notice.

Re: Where to buy renthal road medium bars in Australia??
I would'nt imagine there would be any noticable flex considering the thickness of the aluminium. A bonus is that they are supposed to absorb any vibrations. Hopefully mine will arrive today.

Re: Where to buy renthal road medium bars in Australia??
Well today is day NINE ! after ordering my renthals through the biggest Suzuki dealer in Qld. Probably could have had them here faster and cheaper from o/s, and had a bigger selection of colours. Of course the dealer blames the wholesaler(Cassons) for the delay. "Would you like me to buy all my parts from o/s in future" I asked. "I dont care" said the spare parts assistant. "You will care if you lose your job because you dont sell any parts anymore" I told her. If I owned that store I would be on the phone to the supplier and telling him/her that they were costing both me and themselves money through their sloppy, slow dispatching system. I can order a genuine suzuki part today, and it will be here tomorrow out of Melbourne.
End of Rant.

At long last. New Renthal Ultra Low Road Bike Bars arrived. Here is a couple of pics to compare. Have fitted them and they look and feel Great. Am not quite finished as I have to put bar ends back on. Am going to secure them with Loxin bolts. Got idea from YouTube vid. Am very happy with colour. Silver. Re: Where to buy renthal road medium bars in Australia??
If anyone changes to a set of Renthals and wants to put the bar ends back on. This is what I did. Bought a pack of Dyna bolt Loxin anchors. M6X12mm. Take the old rubbers and nut off originals. Shorten metal sleeve by 12mm. Wrap insulation tape around end of sleeve that sits up against bar-end until it is thick enough to fit nicely into Renthal bar. This just saves looking aroung for some rubber hose the exact fit. Find a washer that fits into Renthal bars and put it on bar end screw, on top of sleeve. Put Loxin on and engage screw thread. Put Loxin just inside Renthal bar and tighten screw until it starts to touch the sides of the bars. Push in and tighten up while holding the bar-end. Result is a nice binding fit. If anyone needs two Loxins let me know and I will post you them for free. I had to buy a pack of ten.

Original.
Renthals.
Please note the Lush grass after several feet of rain.
They look wider but it is only 30mm overall. Originals 690mm, Renthals 720mm. The originals sweep back more, by a few degrees.

They look great Hammy.
I was going for black bars, but they look like the go
I'm thinking of doing the same but with 1" raisers. Do you think the cables, etc,etc will fit still?

No!. I'm pretty sure with risers they will hit the fairing on full lock. Because they are not sweeped back as much as the originals. What do you want risers for. Heck, your younger than me.

Re: Where to buy renthal road medium bars in Australia??
I think we have a lot in common Reardo. I busted my back several years ago. Crushed bottom 3 vertibra. I feel ok with the position. I personally think that the more straighter Renthals are a better posture position. The flex in the alloy bars should be a help too. I found the original set-up seemed a little cramped, and I am only 6 foot-182cm. You can judge by my first two photos what the difference is . I rode a Blackbird before the Bandit, and this is like an armchair ride. Do you own a kidney belt ?
ps. Easier to see out of the mirrors too.
